I'm sure this is out there somewhere, but I just saw the complete FOB commercial for the first time.....!

It's on the UMD for PSP.....(translation, Universal Media Disc for Play Station Portable)

this thing is sooo shiny....i watch Serenity (& others, Cowboy Bebop...Sin City...) while traveling or treadmilling...whenever. And the picture is so clear and bright.... I don't know how long these things will be around, but it is really worth checking out. Now i can hang out on the couch watching movies while the spouse is all off into ER or something i don't like on the tube.....

and no, i'm not getting paid to advertise

It's also on the SERENITY DVD main menu page as a hidden 'easter egg'

Love the touch of the 'blue sun' at the start. Wonder who makes Oaty Bars eh?

I forgot exactly how to call it up, which is why I didn't mention it...but having just popped the DVD back in...

Highlight the word 'play' but don't select it, then press 'left' and it should lighlight a section on the screen to the right. Select that and you get 60 seconds of Joss chatting and then the commercial plays in full.

*sigh* Here we go...

PSP is terrable!

1) Battery Life? If you actually want to see the movie/game, turn your brightness all the way up... But, when you do that, your battery life is gone in 2-3 hours!

2) Dead Pixels? That screen. Man. That screen in PRETTY. Too pretty... anything touches it, and it takes damage. Soon enough you'll have dead pixels, right where you need to see. Dead pixels which Sony dosn't cover.

3) UMD? Ah, UMD. Universal Media Disk. Sony being Sony. Why do they love making media formats so much? Won't they ever learn people don't like things that arn't compatible with anything else? UMD is being completly dropped by Wal-Mart, and slowed by several other major sellers. Not to mention the fall back in sellers, how bout the fall back in studios? Universal Studios and Paramount Pictures are going to stop releasing titles on UMD and 20th Century Fox, Buena Vista and even the creators themselves, Sony Pictures, are scalling back releases.

This leaves the PSP without what Sony calls its claim to fame, media functionality. If I want to see a movie, I'll see it on DVD. If I want to see a movie on the road, i'll see it on a portable DVD player, not on a handheld exclusive format, on a portable that costs near $400. And if I want portable gaming, I'll play the DS.
