Here is the plot synopsis for our Firefly themed episode:

J.D., Wally and our resident Scifi fan Orson make a plan to go see "SERENITY" on the big screen because the local cineplex is bringing it back for one day, Throughout the course of the episode there is tons of scifi references to all kinds of genre shows with a zinger of an ending.

You know what? I kinda liked it. I'll at least give them an A for effort. The audio in the car was muffled, but I liked the characters and the dialogue.

You're welcome :)

I've now downloaded and watched all the episodes in reverse order (don't ask me why). When I saw JD open the cabinet in ep 1 to decide which SMCs to watch I thought to myself "I wonder if he's got Gummi Bears in there?..." Cartoons that need to be referenced in future eps: Visionaries, Centurions.

Also, is that Optimus Prime up on the shelf in ep 6?

Thanks Guys,

Serenity Valley,
We use the latest version of Sony Vegas software for the eps. I highly recommend it for editing

Grounded,
Aw man, I remember both the Visionaries and Centurions, Those we're pretty great cartoons. We are definitely planning more cartoon themed episodes in the future and I would love to include those. That definitely was an Optimus Prime on the shelf, I believe its a collectors edition of some sort my buddy Mike paid $100.00 for it.

Vegas, huh? Does it make you render all the time? Because I hate that. I'm using Studio right now, which is fine as far as rendering, but the frame dropping during capture is ridiculous. I liked the effects you guys used in the credits sequence.

Serenity Valley,

We use Studio also, we noticed we we're losing frames when we used the usb but we changed to fire wire and we haven't had a problem with it since. maybe thats the difference i'm not sure. Are you a filmmaker also?

everyworldspinnin,

the music we use is from 3 bands primarily, Grimlock, Bombay, & Duke Puke. I haven't heard of Warp 11, i'll check them out on your recommendation. Thanks

Hmm. Well, my laptop doesn't have a firewire hookup, but I've been using the Dazzle Box. Lately I haven't had any dropouts. We filmed and edited yesterday without problems, but we take it in small chuncks. Yes, I've done some independent stuff. Anyone can take a look at some of my projects at:
http://www.simple-assault.com/Film.htm
It's not available for download, but there's some screencaps and stuff.

I sent your link to my parents, sci-fi lovers, and my mom actually laughed out loud at several parts of the episode she watched, which is weird for her, she says. Keep up the good work!

Grounded,
We are thinking about adding the episodes as podcasts very soon but I had not thought about doing just an audio promo. Thats a great idea, Thanks for the suggestion.

Grizwald, I'm so happy you like our stuff, and thanks for all the support.Episode 7 should be out next Wednesday or the Wednesday after. It is called "Cartoonathon" and its another dissection of "Old-School" cartoons. I believe someone mentioned "Visionaries" above. We have a great part with that cartoon.

Are any of you guys planning on going to Wizard World Philadelphia?

What did you guys think of the latest episode? Me and my co-writer threw in Visionaries for Grounded, We we're a little harsh on it but we both really are fans of it.

I personally liked our twisted back story of Gargamel from the Smurfs.

Are, you kidding me? John was harsh, I liked Visionaries and even said he didn't "get art" (it was all improved, I swear).

I am curious to know what Grounded thought of our cartoon episode however. I figure he bumped it 'cause he liked it. ;)
