GENERAL DISCUSSIONS

What do you think FF would have been like, had Fox not interjected humor?

I like Whedon's original draft of Captain Reynolds, as a dark, and brooding man who has lost his faith.
Most likely because I can Identify with that, not just because i'm evil. I do however think, Nathan played that role to perfection. Maybe that was one of the few things Fox did right, still doesn't make up for the cancelation though, and I will be sure pay them a visit when they get to that "Special" Hell.

Fox wanted more action, and more humor. Not well written characters, and drama. So Joss, and Tim had
to accomadate them.

Mal’s ‘psychotic’ glee at faking out Simon about Kalee’s ‘death’ was original Mal – the ‘space monkey’s spiel’ was not.

Are you referring to their response to the pilot?

It would of been as cold and dark as the the movie and canceled after five episodes.

I think it still would have been funny, a lot more dark humour

But still, maybe its something to be thankful for to Fox

Considering how great the pilot was, I'm glad Fox's influence was as limited as it was. Really got to wonder if the series still would have failed if they started with the pilot instead. I'm not thankful to Fox for anything.

Not thankful? Fox did air the show, or did you forget that part?

I think there would have still been humor. Mal was pretty humorous in the pilot. Not so happy-go-lucky as he was in the rest of the series, but not exactly a spectre of death either. I think the film gave us a pretty good picture. Some funny, but not primarily funy.
