Anyone else seeing the trailers for "V is for Vendetta" and feeling indignant? I'm talking about the moment when the masked vigilante faces down the attack of what seems to be an army, then murmurs, "My turn."

My guess is they're not consciously stealing, but, hey! Get off our turf, people!

lmao ;p

I'm sure that if nothing else, Firefly has influenced a number of shows and movies in some ways. It certainly seems Zoic is still going for that "handheld CGI" look in their special effects works in the Battlestar series...

Though to be honest, V for Vendetta was around for quite some time in comic form before Firefly came around... Seems Whedon's done some comic book reading, I wonder if the influence was the other way around in this case? :)

No way, V for Vendetta is a comic from the 80s. I agree with Nuclear, Mr Whedon more than likely takes influences from comics like V for Vendetta and The Watchmen

While I agree V for Vendetta probably influenced Joss (and other filmakers for that matter), someone mentioned in another thread that in the UltraViolet trailer Mila Jovovich can be seen fighting attackers who are either wearing blue gloves or have blue hands...hmmm.

We will hold...we hold till Mal gets back.

Doesn't anyone see the similarities of OUT OF GAS and LOST? Out of Gas was THE ultimate flashback show, and then Lost comes along and makes a series that has a similar premise!

Just my 2cents worth.

Book: "quite specific. It is however somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps"

When I think of when I think of someone saying, "My turn," in a fight is the movie The Principle.

Some things are to basic to be on anyone's turf.
