Well, at the moment, one week after it's release, it's rating as #1 on the DVD sales charts.

Of the top three DVD/Entertainment stores in Australia:

1. JB HiFi (with the exclusive slip cover signed by Joss Whedon), lists it as their top selling DVD. http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvds (click on the small Serenity icon to view the slip cover... it's shiny).

2. EzyDVD, lists Serenity as being #1 and #2. (The exclusive special collector's edition tin being #1 and the regular DVD at #2). http://www.ezydvd.com.au/ (scroll down to "top five new releases).

3. Sanity lists Serenity as being at #3, but considering they are pricing themselves out of the market and have no actual special collector's edition *anything* on their DVD, that's not surprising. http://www.sanity.com.au/product.asp?intProductID=658341&intArtistID=2

pssst. Also, anyone with an Australian DVD, if you haven't figured it out yet. The cover can be flipped inside out to look exactly the same *WITHOUT* the ugly big blue rating along the bottom. That's about the first thing I did.

WOOHOO!

Go SERENITY.

EzyDVD is currently out of stock.
However yesasia has it, the AU 2-disk set.

for the USA page. You need a PAL-compatible
all-region DVD player to play this in the States.
Yesasia has those too.

I got my collectors tin through the post over the weekend (in the UK).

Disk 1 is dual-encoded (region 2/4) so can even be watched on a region-coded player, although disk 2 appears not to be, which is a bit strange.

Wow, that is great news. Good job to the Browncoats down under. The more DVDs the better.

P.S. I'm jealous of the Collector's Tin.
