Hi all - just a note to say "Hooray" - HMV (Lincoln, UK) has a (admittedly rather small, A4 possibly a little bit bigger) poster for Serenity's DVD release up in the doorway. It also advertises that the DVD will include 'exclusive' art cards - which is nice. I thought some people might be interested in that - I certainly am.

The other thing was about these UMD contraptions. Having recently, accidentally, bought(not really, I just can't justify getting a PSP by any other means other than 'by accident') a PSP, I just wondered, do UMDs have the extras that DVDs come with?

See I'm thinking that Serenity would look very nice on that cool little screen. It would also look very nice on my TV screen. I already have the Region 1 DVD. On the day I ordered that, I then discovered the Region 2 DVD was to have features not included on the Region 1 set (D'oh!) but by then of course, it was too late to cancel. So anyway, back to the point, my thinking is get the DVD later and the UMD now. Well when it comes out that is - I'm not a thief (surprising that when I say I'm from Hull, everyone seems to think I am...but never mind).

Right, enough ramblings for now. If anyone knows about the UMD doodahs then pleeeeeeeeease let me know. Otherwise I'll end up getting both. Hooray for Serenity sales, dammit for my bank balance...

DATALESS

The UMD are shiny in the US they are usually more expensive ($22 - $24) than DVDs ($20), when they are release but the drop down to about $14 about a month or 2 later. The do have some special features the UMD in the US release for Serenity has 3. The features are
1. What's in a Firrefly
2. Re-lighting The Firefly
3. We'll Have a Fruity Oaty Good Time (hidden)
I think have the ability to show the movie (usually the first 10 mins) to anyone is very cool. The PSP is has a lot of games (I think more than the DS) most are fun. I have both the PSP and Nintendo DS, I am thinking of selling my DS (very few good games.) I also have some thing I would never get rid of for the PSP and my Laptop computer. It's is the Location Free Player pack ($350 US). It allows me to watch my TiVo on my psp any where there is a wireless network connection. So if I'm in France, UK or around the corner I can watch my television, DVD player or My TiVo. It streams the internet so there is no use of the memory card. The image pauses every once in a while, may be it happens for a few seconds once a show. That alone makes the PSP the coolest handheld device (except maybe the Ipod) out there. If you bought the PSP for the UMDs I think you made a mistake. If you use as the entertainment system it was designed to be then you made the right choice. Pick up the game "Midway Arcade Treasures" it's cool to have the wireless feature to play Mortal Kombat with friends. Good luck what ever you decide. I would love to have Firefly on UMD. Can We some how make this happen?
