Ok..lol. we all know what a BROWNcoat is.. (and proud to be one) but what would you call or classify a friend who watches the series- likes it- gets that it is clever and smart and all that- but does NOT get obsessed (I know, I know.. how weird is that, but it happens..) well it has happened in my corner of the 'verse.. so would they count at all? Would they be beige or tan coats? Or maybe latte colored? (nix that last)

Just wonderin if you have had similar situations and what we might call these nice/beloved (tho clearly slightly disconnected) folk?

I vote beigecoat for two reasons.

1: It starts with b and so translates nicely from browncoat

2: They won't have a clue what it means when we call them that!

That is the funniest thing I've heard today. Thank you!

I vote beigecoats too, Chindi, and I have had that experience. I have a daughter who likes Firefly/Serenity, went to the movie 3 times, will watch the show with me and loves to get me things Firefly related and even says "Shiny!", but she isn't here everyday and doesn't HAVE to watch the show or movie at least every other day ( like yours truly!). And she even professes to be a little concerned with my sanity, seein' as how I have to be online first thing each mornin' to check and see what is going on at FFF.net.

So, yea, Beigecoat would fit her nicely.

By the way, I just don't get what is wrong with folks who don't become absolutely obsessed with our crew!

Considering I'd stick them in straightjackets, and safely ship them off to bright and padded rooms, I'd be inclined to call them 'whitecoats'. :) But since I'm not to misbehave like that, at least not in public, I'll second: beigecoats.
