After eleven years of broadcasting, CBS-owned UPN and Warner Bros.-owned WB Network are being merged into a single network. The two will be merged into the new "CW Network" (which to me just sounds silly)... this was a few days ago, so if someone else posted this already, nevermind.

... is where the original article is, though of course much has been written since then (such as a show I've never heard of," Cult," being cancelled).

The question THIS SITE should be asking itself is... will the new network be able to afford:

a) 'Firefly.'
b) An 'Angel' TV movie, or
c) Another Joss (or Tim Minear, or Ben Edlund) TV series?

Personally, I think it's just high comedy that The Gilmore Girls will be sharing a network with Chris Rock, but hey, I'm easily amused.

This has been posted before but CW is owned essentially by Time Warner so the chances of seeing Firefly/Serenity on this new network is very unlikely and would mark a third change of hands of the franchise by the big companies. Our better bet is convincing either Universal Studios or 20th Century Fox that there is still life left in the franchise and get them to do stuff about it.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.
