Terry Gilliam (Monty Python) has released an unusual DVD called 'Lost in La Mancha'; its about how his latest film got taken down by events beyond his control.

What's interesting- besides the behind-the-scenes doc itself- is that he isn't giving up, releasing this DVD is a step towards refunding production, he still intends to make this film. In this he is following Orson Welles, who tried making it for 20 years and never completed it.

Joss & Terry have many things in common- I think Gilliam's strategy will give a lot of people new ideas about re-starting Firefly...

This was released a few years ago, and is a fascinating look at how movies are made, or what can happen so that they're not made. It's not made by Terry Gilliam, but it's about him making his movie, and made with his co-operation and help. Funny, sad and educational.

If you liked that documentary, theres a book been released recently, along similar lines, about how the brothers grimm movie got royally screwed by the Weinstiens (I haven't read it, thats just the general impression i get from the reviews.)

Its called Dreams and Nightmares: Terry Gilliam, 'The Brothers Grimm' and Other Cautionary Tales of Hollywood
