NIGHTWALKER

I just finished watching the series of Firefly, which for me is amazing. I don't watch much TV. In fact, most of the time I use my directv satellite to listen to jazz. Primarily because I can't seem to stomach the boredom of today's television and am unmoved by the sad superficial downturn of the next emotional hit packed into an hour. However, I saw the movie Serenity and was intrigued.

The passion of all those involved in this series really stood out. That doesn't come across in other shows I watch. But moreover, what other show places a prostitute, a doctor, a preacher, and a ship captain at the same dinner table with the acceptance of differences? I admit, I am sad that I am unable to continue to watch the series but satisfied with what I have seen thus far.

I would love to see the show back on the air. First because it would actually allow me to watch television but really because I would like to see everyone who took place in this show be working and obviously doing what they love. It comes across.

Sincerely Involved,

Nightwalker

Welcome here, we're weird.

Here's the deal on more, if you want it you need to work for it, one of the ways I do it is to make sure every new person here knows that, but more important is how we all need to work for it.

Right now we lack the numbers needed, there are a lot of us, yes, but not enough. Universal took a risk on us and so far that risk has either not paid off or not paid off enough to make a sequel, but DVD sales can change that.

Getting back on TV needs the same thing, no one is likely to pick up the series if the movie isn't profitable to make a sequel.

So what you need to to is get everyone you know involved (or rather everyone you can get), get them interested enough to buy the DVDs and also spread the word to others.

The only way we can get more is if we spread like a plauge, that means merely getting new people to buy DVDs is not enough, we need to make them care to the level that they get others to buy.

Lecture over here's what you should know about the people here. They're great. They'll love you, debate you, enlighten you, be enlighted by you, just talk with you, laugh with you, cry with you, do other things with you and ... stuff.

Ok it doesn't sound all that good, but it is, really. You'll be welcome and this will be like a home.

Very nice first post, Nightwalker. You have a somewhat different perspective than many of the others who wander in here.

Indeed, it would be great to see all our Big Damn Heroes back at work at what they love to do. Not to mention the fact that we'd get to see the results of that work.

As others have said, it will take some ongoing effort on the part of us fans to make that happen. But forgive us if we seem too demanding about it. We get a bit carried away at times. Not everybody feels comfortable about pestering their friends and relations to watch/buy Firefly and Serenity -- and that's okay too.

Hope you enjoy your visits here. There's a lot of fun to be had among the Browncoats.

I don't disagree on any particular point.

America loves a winner!

Welcome aboard! And while we'll never get the series back the way it was, who knows what the future brings? I'm a realist, but I've seen the impossible happen w/ this crew.

NIGHTWALKER

Thank you all for your generous welcome. I understand that it is a call to action to get the show back. I have already "recruited" many of my friends and they, like me, feel similarly about the subtle power of this show. Next, on to co-workers. Again, thank you for the welcome and the encouragement to action.
