As many people know, boxofficemojo.com is a website dedicated to tracking movies domestic and foreign box offices. They tend to update older movies about once a week or so. In the past month the global box office has gone from the start of 38 mil .. to where it stands now 38.79 mil. The only reason I mention this, is that in the upcomming weeks as they talley the remainder of any foreign box office, we actually have a chance at hitting 39 mil, which according to box office mojo is the cost of the film.
Now .. as I stated above, this is more of a moral or psychological victory, I am sure it wont make a difference to Universal, since they dont get all of the ticket sales anyway, but to any reporter who may write and article on Serenity in the future, or to someone who likes to research what they watch, if they use that site .. or any similar site, they may walk away with a more positive view of the box office takes.

at a comic book convention someone asked Kevin Smith (Silent Bob, and the director of 'Clerks' and many others) about his films doing disappointing box office, and he said:
"I've never lost any money for the studio"

breaking even is not bad...and the DVD sales are big profit (costing little to produce)...

I have faith that by next year this time Universal will be thinking about a sequel...
(knock on wood)
