Being a bit new to the message boards here and indeed that lifechanging TV series: Firefly, I thought I'd ask a question.

I've got the DVD box set now, and I'm just up to the final episode, but I cannot believe I've not been given the chance to see it on TV.

Has Firefly ever been on terrestial UK TV? I believe it's been on Sci-fi, which is great if you have a SkyTV or Cable package that includes SciFi, but I'd say lots of potential viewers have not got access to this.

I've spotted a potential gap in the schedules of Channel 4: on Sundays they show "Enterprise" (now there's one I lost no tears over, dire and predictable would be one description that would match the scripts and the cancellation).

They are currently about half way through the series 4, which means they might be convunced to show Firefly in its place when they finally get rid of enterprise.

It would have similar appeal, though might require creative voice-overs for the odd phrase about Inara, I think it's worth considering.

I've already made my oppinion known in writing to C4, and they haven't said "no" yet, let's push them whilst there's a well timed (i.e. Serenity DVD) reason to show it.

And I liked Enterprise, but the scripts got too cheesy, Catch ups at the start of each episode started to take 5 minutes to tell you "previously on enterprise", and it got very mundaine.

I'd welcome Enterprise back, if there was some shake up to put more stand alone episodes, it just completely lost it in series long arcs, like that Xindi business. You missed one episode one week, you would put off seeing the next one as it might have been a two-parter or ruin the one you missed.

Long Story Archs lead to cancellation. End of story. (bad pun).

Series one and two were good though, except for the "we must cram every bit of prehistory for the star trek story, like 'first transport', even reference to the Borg, into the Enterprise plot." (which they must have forgotten about before they reappeared in TNG....)

It got dull, "I believe they might eventually write a Directive, maybe some kind of 'prime' directive, to help people in my situation to make decisions in the future...." GMAFB!

It was a good vision, but just should have relaxed and done their own thing.

And put shots of Concorde in the opening titles.

Like that one in the third series where they commented on futility of religious wars without once mentioning any major religions or events, I think that was in the Third series. More like that would have stopped me from seeing what I had on DVD.

Nice touch with the Klingons, though I preferred Worf's "We don't talk about it..." explanation.

Have I proved that I'm not Anti Trek, just believe the Network Overseers of the script writing process should have been hung drawn and quartered.....

Anyhows, this is about Serenity, not Enterprise.
