OK, now it's time to work on "Jaynes Jams"
and you know his music will be totally different
than Wash's. I would like to put together a jayne show for next week. I need suggestions and possibly
if it is too much of a challenge for me....start pelting me with mp3s. Discuss!

Bless the signal!

George Thorougood. If there ever was music that summed up Jayne, it would be George Thoroughgood.

Also, Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" would fit him to a t.

I have walked along the path of evil many times, it's a twisting, curving path that..actually leads to a charming plot garden, BUT BEYOND THAT EVIL!!!"

Good start! Kind of what I had in mind...throw in some crude humor...and we have a show? I hope I do not loose listeners like I did during the Reaver Madness show! Way to scary and intense! I was down to onme listener in the first 30 minutes. (was a three hour show) Heh.

it's hard to say. everyone always assumes the badass style tunes. but while Jayne is the tough guy, he also has that silly and child-like side that is hard to pin down.

Simpleton as well...until he uttered the word
"pretentious" in one of the episodes. The look Mal gave him! Total surprise! It's like a gun-geek that can hurt you?

UNSARDONIC

Okay, okay... everyone's going the "kitshicker"-tunes route... I understand... "Bad to the Bone" makes SO much sense.

So, I figger it'll be hard to find but, ummm... may I (respectfully) suggest... from Frank Zappa's soundtrack to "200 Motels"... a song called "Redneck Eats," possibly the greatest declaration of redneck bad-to-the-boneness ever. Triumphant chorus lyrics include, in part:

Lonesome Cowboy Bert:
"When I get off I get plastered,
Get drunk 'til I fall on the floor,
Find me some communist bastard,
And stomp on his face 'til he don't move no more."

Exuberant Chorus:
"Stomp on his face 'til he don't move no more!"

Lonesome Cowboy Bert:
"I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll keep on drinkin' 'til my eyes puff up and turn red!
Drool on mah shirt, see if he's hurt,
Kick him again in the head!
Kick Him Again In The Head - OH!
KICK HIM AGAIN IN THE HEAD, BOYS!!"

...ummm... it goes on from there...
...with gusto

...kick him again in the head "or your friends will think you're a stupid, inbred stack of meat."

Tough one. Wash was easy.

I see Jayne listening to some pseudo-asskicking music but there is still going to be some quirkiness in there. Makes it a bit difficult.

Cracker - Can I Take My Gun to Heaven?
Cracker - Mr. Wrong
VNV Nation - Honour
Hanzel und Gretyl - SS Deathstar Supergalactik
Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod
Cramps - Bikini Girls With Machine Guns

These seem like they'd be the simple and raw over the top type of thing Jayne would listen tooo....

Primus - Wynona's got a Big Brown Beaver.

and

RoB Zombie - Superbeast.

"Okay, um, I'm lost. Uh, I'm angry, and I'm armed..."

VIOLETRIX

i always associated him with straight-up '70's rock. skynyrd, foghat, old aerosmith, uh... whatssit? that "feel like makin love" song, some creedence, you know, that kinda stuff. nor exactly ass-kicking music, but good stuff. "sweet emotion"... all those old '70's classic rock songs were about sex, muscles and thuggery.

(even though i was born in '77, i was infected by the music.)

then again, maybe he listens to something completely out there, like japanese pop. can't you just see jayne rocking out to puffy amiyumi? *lol*
that'd be awesome.

The man can produce "pretentious" from nowhere, so something eerie-ass, I'm guessing.

Sir, the BATF has determined that that joke is considered an offensive weapon.

Do you have a permit to carry that joke in public Sir?

I'm in agreeance with ReginaRoadie on this one George would have written Bad To The Bone with the handsome Jayne in mind, also ACDC- definitely ACDC!

GOT IT!!!!

Can I Take My Gun Up To Heaven by Cracker!

"Can i take my gun up to heaven?
You know she's always been by my side
Can i take my gun up to heaven?
I'll check it with st. peter at the gate

And if i had a woman that was faithful
Or even kind some of the time
I'd drag her on up to the gates of heaven
Or follow her right down to the gates of hell

When i come home from a long day a-working at the prison
i find my woman she's not around
She's down at dahlie's corner a-playing cards and drinking
A or sitting on the cars singing dixie with the boys

Can i take my gun up to heaven?"

Needless to say, another folder will be on the way :D
