Does anyone else think that SciFi showing this "Firefly" marathon as their lead-in to the return of Stargate: SG1 and Stargate: Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica tonight is a good thing? And perhaps indicative of their interest in reviving it?

There are lots of fans of the above mentioned shows and I think this is good exposure for our show. Some people will be tuning in from time to time today to check start times, and find out info about the shows tonight. Perhaps they will get caught! ( Besides I happen to think that "Firefly" beats those shows all hollow!)

I think we all need to write in and express interest in this show to SciFi. If they get an inkling of how many of us tuned in and are interested in more, that'd be a good thing. I'm gonna do it. Gonna suggest they add it to their Friday night line-up!

I sent them an email last week saying that they should pick up the series. I hope that we can send a deluge of emails today and get some response. I know that I will do my part.

Maybe there will be new fans after the marathon today. I know that I am a fresh fan. If it wasn't for the movie and my husband making me go (I was in serious Star Wars mode at the time) then I would have never discovered it.

Let's email them a bunch.

Thank you Imin, I'm hopin' that all us Browncoats just flood them with emails!

Whenever folks see "Firefly" they fall in love, I'm hopin' lots of folks fall in love today!

I've been very grateful to SciFi for doing this, I know they are making money too, but it sure is drawing in new fans.

Welcome to the 'verse by the way! I was a big Star Wars fan too, not that I'm not anymore, but I think this show and movie are better. The dialogue, the captain (!) lol.

My first love will always be Star Wars, but since there is room in my heart for more. I also love Firefly. I see such potential in the crew and the writing, I just want to see more.

Thank you for the welcome. I feel very welcome with the people here. It's been a wonderful trip through the 'verse with so much more to explore.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I have emailed Sci Fi several times to thank them for airing Firefly & running the marathons to get the show out to more people.

I think it is a bit soon to consider a return to television. Our efforts should be concentrated on pushing the Serenity DVD & getting the word out to as many new people as we can. The more new fans we bring on board, the better the sales of the DVDs, which means better chances of getting a sequel.

Joss has said the focus is on movies, a trilogy to be exact. He has even been quoted as saying that if the movies are a success then the powers that be may look at tv. The stress though is on making the movies a success.

I do not disagree with you on any particular point, BrownCoat1.

I think that the exposure we are getting on SciFi is drawing in new fans. I am one of them. I fell in love when I saw an episode on SciFi. We didn't have F*X when Firefly came out, or I would imagine I'd have been hooked back then. ( Such a good show, the best I've ever seen!) New fans = more people clamoring for everything we can get in the 'verse.

I hope that SciFi will receive lots of emails today, thanking them and gushing over Firefly.
And that they will consider showing it all the time in their schedule and that IF ( and I don't believe this for a minute) we don't get a movie, maybe something will be picked up by SciFi. A show, a miniseries, anything we can get.

But if SciFi will show it regularly... there will be new fans and they WILL buy Serenity.

And I like you would prefer at this point... a BDSequel.
