GWEK

Our second episode, 1x17: "Hero Complex," is now available in pdf. If you're interested in receiving it, please e-mail gwek@optonline.net.

In our first episode, we established connections to both "Firefly" and "Serenity." This week's episode may be a little more controversial, not only because it contains scenes of violence (please see the warning in the credits), but also because it establishes that, while we completely respect the continuity of the 'Verse, we're willing to act decisively to address unanswered questions.

We hope that you'll enjoy this episode and tell all your fellow Browncoats about it. The episode will be posted to the Blue Sun Room (on fireflyfans.net) and our livejournal ( http://www.livejournal.com/community/virtual_firefly) later this week.

Look for our next episode, "Property Rights", next week, and an announcement about our web site soon.

Keep flying!

Great work, GWEK!!

I'm loving your new virtual firefly episodes.

Gives me something to look forward to each week, the only shame is it gets delivered to my mailbox whilst I'm asleep. (I'm in the UK). Still something to look forward to when I wake up.

Shiny!!!!

"Yon know what the first rule of flying is?... Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air and you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells tou she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home." Mal, BDM

GWEK!
Thank you. Your first episode was great. I
love how you seem to stay true to the 'verses
literary canon. I also appreciate the script
format! I'm real picky about FanFic -so far yours
is grabbin' me. woohoo! -more daydreamin'
P.S. I left you a note at your livejournal called
"I like it"

As the Story Consultant for "Hero Complex", I really think you guys will enjoy this episode. I also want to mention that if you thought we captured the 'Firefly' feel with "The Big Stick", then you're not going to be disappointed with "Hero Complex", which, IMO, has a very "Joss-esque" feel to it and is perfectly in keeping with his storytelling philosophy.
Take my love
Take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care
I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell 'em I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I've found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me

I know there is a Haiku Thread, but this is the place for this one (it's not very good, but it sums up the Hero Complex episode).

The pdf for 1x18: Property Rights should be available next Tuesday (or, as with this week, very early Wednesday, depending on your time zone...).

I apologize for the delay in posting 1x17: Hero Complex to the Blue Sun Room, but I need to format the document first to make it semi-readable.

As a number of folks can attest, the pdfs are too damned pretty, so I recommend that format if you like what you see in the Blue Sun Room. Until our web site is up (coming soon!), you can e-mail gwek@optonline.net to be added to the mailing list.

Keep flying!

Well the PDF format is just perfect. It's the best way to present text and you know it won't be tampered with.

And the artwork is nice and simple. It's all just shiny!

You miss all that if you read it off the Blue Sun Room (No offense, the Blue Sun is doing a bang-up job, don't send hands of blue to kick my Pi Gu)

You know, this GIF I did a couple days ago
was pretty good. I thought it gave you a feel
for this episode.

Except now, I have nothing to write.
I know: I'll do another GIF...

I am on your mailing list and these first two eps are outstanding. So in character and exciting, especially Hero Complex.
I can see the eps playing out in my head, and I am loving it.
Thanks so much for all the work. :)

Hey, folks. Head writer here. Just wanted to post a nice e-mail that I got offering feedback on our first two episodes. Sure, it's tooting our own horn, but I think we're allowed, right? :)

First off, I have to say how much I loved the first two eps. They could have been real episodes penned by Joss, and I don't have a higher compliment to give than that. The characterizations were spot on- I want to say especially Mal, but really it was especially everybody. Jayne in 1x17, River's comment about the oranges, Inara's denying the presence of "vibes", Kaylee's reluctance to get closer to Simon because of Jubal Early's threats, Wash's comment about the slinky dress, Book's tears over the Alliance uniform, I could go on. Funny, witty, horrifying in all the best ways and just all-around tremendous.

NEVER wanted to see the women on a freaking rack!
Jeezis! That was fscked up imo - now they're
emotionally scarred? And you devote ONE freking line to Niska's death?! How anti-climactic! We
wanted to see HIM suffer and all we get is a
oh -Jayne kills him. Hoo frekin-yay.
Instead of a flame, take this as a highly emotional reaction to your writing - you win.
But like I said - I won't be reading any eps with
warnings on them.
