Does anybody know much about this movie "Goners"? There isn't much on the web about it, but it's supposed to come out this year and is written by Joss. I've been hearing a lot about Wonder Woman but not goners.

From what I have found so far, it is a project that has just been announced. No cast to speak of as far as I know, budget has just been approved, so there's not a lot to find out there. I am assuming that this *might* be the future official website, although I could be wrong. Not much to it as of yet.

There is a forum in there that Gossi is a member of too (Gossi is the one that is running browncoat.serenitymovie.org site I believe)

Here's an article I found about it as well. Seems Joss is not giving out a lot of details yet.

There is a small article on Goners from The Horror Channel- www.horrorchannel.com -it's from Sept. 23, 2005, just go to the search and type in Whedon's Goners.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Joss has said he is not sure which movie he will do next, it just depends on which studio gives the greenlight first. I am pretty sure he has said the Goners script is complete but he is still writing Wonder Woman.

I would imagine that even if Goners was greenlit right away, the chances of seeing it this year are slim to none. Most films do at least 2 months or pre-production, 1-3 months of shooting and 6 months to a year for editing/effects.

There are exceptions of course. Munich started prepping at the beginning of the summer and is out now, but that's a rarity - and it happend to be directed by arguable the most prolific and proficient director working today.

Either way - whichever film he does next - it can't get here soon enough for me.

Yeah, I don't think we'll be seeing this probably until the end of the decade at least. Joss may have a background in tv, but he's not a Woody Allen/Robert Altman/John Sayles/Clint Eastwood/Spielberg who can crank out a movie every year like an assembly line.

I think WONDER WOMAN will be 2007, and GONERS either mid to late 2008 or early 2009.

Also, on a purely political basis, Goners is an original project, while Wonder Woman has the weight of both a franchise (DC comics) and a fad (after Fantastic 4, Batman Begins, Superman Returns, and the upcoming Batman sequel) on its side.

I'd imagine that even if Joss wanted to do Goners first, WW likely looks like a more sure paycheque (I mean, I know we're all gonna see Goners, but we [of all people] know that suits and marketing departments don't always think like us).

I believe "Goners" is going to based off the graphic novel "Fray" which Joss created and wrote. Something about vampires in the future and all. More along the lines of a sci-fi Buffy I guess would be the best way to describe it.

I highly doubt we will be seeing either Wonder Woman or Goners in the next year or so. Maybe in 2007.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

Thanks. I agree that whatever comes out first it should just get here soon.

I could be wrong, but I believe that Joss has said that Goners takes place in an entirely new 'verse, separate from the Buffy-verse.

Just to clarify, Goners is nothing to do with Fray -- it's set in the present day. It's about the human condition, as always, and it's pretty horrific.
