Not sure, maybe this has already been discussed, but does anybody know what Simon shoots into Mal's arm in the beginning of Serenity? This takes place while the two of them are walking around the ship arguing about River going on the mission.

it's an innoculation which he says to the Doctor "Guess I need to get innocked before going planetside" while still in the corridor before they go into the sick bay.
