Bless Joss!
Of course, I almost drowned in my New Years champagne when I read this bit...

"... look for the original series Misplaced, as well as Unfound, Not So Much with the Whereabouts ..."

It's amazing what wonderful things one can write when avoiding their wonder woman script.

...on a side note, when did Joss get so obsessed with lint? I thought I originated that craze.
iHole indeed...

That was hilarious. I wish Joss Whedon could start his own studio some day. He deserves one because he has so many great, outlandish ideas.

Niska: Oh, you do not like I kill this man?
Mal: No, I'm sure he was a...very bad person.
Niska: My wife's nephew. At dinner I am getting earful. There is no way around that.

Glad to see he managed to get in not one, but two shameless plugs for Serenity. I wonder how many sales that will translate into?

Is this interview in the print edition as well as online?

Ain't about you, Jayne. It's about what they need.

It looks like the TV Guide's DVD sweeps this week is Serenity.

http://online.tvguide.com/sweepstakes/dvdsweeps/

That = increasing sales

It's not an interview. As far as I can tell TV Guide asked him to write a guest column.

Don't know if it's in the print edition. It'd be great to have that plug for Serenity get out there.

Yep, it's in the print edition.

I know this because my girlfriend's mum asked her to type it all up and e-mail it to me since she knows I'm a Joss fan.

My girlfriend was kinda pissed that she typed it all up when I told her I'd found a link to the column here :P

Funny :snort: :gurgle:! My head aches from last night.

At least it was semi-coherant. I see now how he wrote dialogue for River Tam.

Plus not only 2 plugs for the BDM but a WHOLE PARAGRAPH on Serenity/Firely plus the give away.

iHole! Haha! That man is fantastic. Funny in a insulting yet charming way AND two plugs for the BDM. Please, people, what more could we ask for?
Hope y'all had a Happy New Year.

Wacky fun!

Am I the only one who feels dissed by Joss?
Maybe I'm too obsessed (maybe?), but
Quote:

"..and the future will see even more incarnations of this visionary work, as it returns to TV as Serenity: The Firefly Years, then back to film as Firefly: Serenity's Sequel, back to TV as SereniFly..,"

sounds like he's making fun of the fanbase.
Kinda his way of telling us to get a life? It's
these kind of flippant comments he makes that hit
me as "there's nothing left to see"... every time I
read Joss' comments about FF/Serenity... I lose a
bit more hope of *more*.

P.S.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the guy's a freakin' millionare. Seems he could go the Independant Filmmaker route and make as many damned films as he wanted! We don't need tons of fancy CGI -even low-budget production could have a great profit in them -the fans are here -it's a sure sell. There are plenty of movies that get made for under 2million bucks. A million of us (there's more) buy the disks for 20bucks a pop sounds like a good margin to me.
I don't know the biz, but the more I see, read and hear, the less faith I got. I think it's possible these people have just moved on, and see us as well, FANatics. I'd bet money 90% of us here on this board put more thought into the 'verse day by day than even the actors themselves.

Oh, Thomas! Ye of little faith!

..Don't forget how The Op begins that dialogue with Mal: "This isn't over yet..."

Buck up. Don't be a 'backslider'. "And if you're playing football, try and favour the other leg."

On the other hand, www.serenitymovie.com (a.k.a. the Universal website or 'NOB'), which is even printed on the backside of the DVD case, is closing on the 6th of January '06. So, I guess the message is "Buy your DVD on the 20th of December and hurry to the Official Website because we're closing it in roughly two weeks time"?!

Reassuringly,

zoid
