Some movie you watch a hundred times just get better and better.

Some movie you watch repeatedly decline in enjoyment each time you watch them. Errors pop up, jokes get weaker, even costuming begins to nag at you.

Which way is Serenity going for you?

I'm sorely afeared to admit that Serenity's not aging like wine for me. It's aging like milk, or at least, orange juice.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Seen the movie now 15 times between the theatre & the DVD. Gets better every time just like the series episodes.

I saw the movie 3 times when it was in cinemas. The first time I saw it was magical, the second time I really had a chance to pay attention and pick up on things. The third time I just sat back and enjoyed the story I already knew.

When I get the DVD in February I'll definately watch it again before I watch all the extras. Then I guess I'll watch it every so often when I feel like it. Hasn't got any worse so far, which I think is a testament to it's greatness :)

Honestly after watching the commentary with Joss, it is renewed! I have new things to look for a pay attention to. Once it starts getting old I'll watch the TV series, watch some Balatica and then come back and be amazed at how good it is again!

BELASERA

Whew, thanks Mary. OJ, indeed. Let's start an AA style support group.
Hello, my name is belasera, and I do not love this movie.
I like it, it's good, great even. But I do not love it and I never really have. It has no spark for me, no resonence. It was too big, ironically, what I love about Whedon is the small, the uncluttered spaces, the odd look or sigh. I think that while I do like the movie, I only truly love the outtakes and deleted scenes, where all the quirky Whedonisms are to be found. I'm aware that the movie is the finished product as Joss wanted it to be, but hey, we can't always see our strengths and I think his is to be found in the line "What a whiner" for me, that line was Joss's Achille's heel, when it got snipped, the whole thing fell apart.
The death of that line hurts me more than any other.

I can understand having that experience, but it was the oppisite for me.

I liked it the first time I saw it, but on both subsequent viewings I've picked up on more things and enjoyed it far more. But then, I've only seen it three time. Perhaps it wil act more like an arc, reach a high point and then slowly dip down.

Probably not, though.
