Why HBO has not looked at purchasing this series as a replacement for that lame A!? show Curb Your Enthusiasm I don't know. It would fit right in with all the other series I like to watch like The Sopranos, Deadwood, and Rome. HBO I think has the best programming for series on TV. It has a look and feel just like those and maybe they can promote them just as well as those. It would reach the right people that enjoy series like this and not have to compete with the world series on lame regular TV. I found the series a couple of months ago out of a chance of luck and fell in love with it after the first episode. Then being discouraged that there would not be any sequels. I was very happy to see that the movie Serenity came out, but did not get a chance to see it at the theaters. When it was available on DVD I went right out and bought it and have watched it multiple times. Has anyone discussed this venture before. It would be great if I could watch it on HBO and that would be a way to pay for the episodes so all browncoats could enjoy.

Yeah, it would be great. I'd ditch Showtime in an instant if I could get Firefly for the same price on HBO. (Admittedly I'm thinking of ditching Showtime anyway.)

The problem is that HBO has shown no interest and unless you know a way to change that they will continue in their abundance of non-interest.

I sent an e-mail to HBO executives there, putting this series on par with all of there other smash hit's they air. Don't know if I will get a response back but we will see.

Maybe if every fan out there sends an e-mail to HBO and explains the deal maybe they will take a look at it. Remember if you can't walk you crawl, and if you can't crawl then someone will carry you. Keep on trying to get a deal. If I had the money I would fund the series.

There's a petition link on one of these threads (can't remember which one) that people are signing to get firefly continued on a premium cable network like HBO or SHO. Lost cause or not, I don't know, but it's something.

What about the SciFi channel? Perhaps their rerun of the series suggests that they might be interested in picking it up in the future. They picked up Stargate that way, only without a hiatus.

Go to HBO.com, at the bottom of page select contact us. Under HBO programs select other programming information which will take you to an e-mail page. Then send an e-mail to HBO what you think about having Firefly as a program on HBO. Remember don't be disbarging, tell them their programs are great and you would like to see Firefly as one of them.

Sorry, but after they burned Farscape the SciFi channel completely lost my trust. The Peacekeeper Wars movie was too little, too late. Steer away from them, or you'll wind up seeing Firefly end abruptly with a cliffhanger you may never see resolved.

Personally, I like the closure that Serenity gave to Firefly. I'd rather see it end here, now, than to end badly, later.

Wasn't it HBO who purchased the rights to air Serenity (the movie) from a certain date? (2008 I think)

I could be thinking of the wrong network but I know someone did a couple of months back and it was talked about here.

Honestly, for one, all of HBOs shows are 60 minutes (not 40 mins with 20 mins of commercials) so I don't know how they'd throw it in there. Second, when I think of the series on HBO, I just can't see them throwing in something like Firefly. It doesn't fit their make-up...their shows are much more grittier and uncensored. They hold nothing back.

Buy hey, if its a chance to see Firefly in HD, I'm all for it ;)
