Shiny. I've been waiting for an update. I checked it the other day to see if there was a Christmas message. Guess I had to wait a few days.

Those actors who view fans as "the little people" aren't worth the extra thought process. You know who they are. Their egotistical attitudes are quite apparent as they've let their success go to their swelled heads.

Luckily, we've been blessed with excellent actors to play the crew of Serenity who are also humble and appreciate the fans. You can't help but love them and wish them the best. Personally, I don't consider these people to be typical Hollywood actors. I view them as great, down-to-earth people who happen to be in the acting profession.

"I can't describe it to people who don't understand, and I can't even describe it to people who DO understand, but I just wanted you to know that I get it."

I think we've all felt that and it's certainly good to know that she is feeling it too. (Not the lack of ability to describe but the understanding the thing that can't be described.)

She makes me happy. Nothing inparticular about her, just...her. She is always all smiles, even while reading her blog all I could see was that gorgeous smiling face. So in turn, I smile.
Merry Christmas Jewel.

Is the documentary available somewhere? I remembered that someone was going to make it, then lost track of it.

I'd love to see it! (I only have dial-up access, so if there's a way to get a DVD or VHS, I'd love to know about it).

It's scheduled to be available in January, on DVD. You can pre-order it (and watch the two trailers) at

http://donetheimpossible.com/

I think Jewel may have gotten an pre-release, not-quite-edited copy.

Mal: Gotta say, Doctor — your talent for alienatin' folks is near miraculous.

I really enjoyed reading what Jewel had to say. I think it's great that our crew is so in touch with, well, us. I'm so glad that they recognize and apprecitae our support--not that we aren't happy to give it.

Wacky fun!

How is it that, that lady always manages to make me cry! She is brilliant. I am so impressed by her that I might have to seriously consider two conventions next year, just coz she will be there!

Happy New Year! Thanks Jewel, you're awsome!

Jewel's a class act for sure.

It takes a lot of stars decades to figure out that their greatest achievement is not in their acting, but in what they can evoke in the spectators.
Firefly and Serenity have brought forth the best in a lot of people in all strata. The people who read this are independents all.

Hope to meet her one day. Born in the same year.
Jewel's blog tells me that she appreciates the scope of the Firefly community.

KAYLEE's my favorite!

It's crazy, the way we seem to have wound up with so many extremely funny, talented, and warm folks on the cast of this show/film/comic/novel/handpuppet/kabuki/whatever. And while I can easily picture Cap'n Tightpants on SNL, I can't ever picture him yelling at us to "get a life!" Hooray for actors who care!

(On an unrelated note, I now have to figure out how to break the news to a buddy of mine that Jewel is married. He'll doubtlessly see this, and I want to soften the blow. Kaylee is, say we say, very popular with the browncoats in my area.)

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal, Fox!

That gorgeous smiling face Yep, and that comes from a great heart. Seeing her in person one can tell she's just fun to be around. Great outlook on life, and who could blame her ? She, like the rest of the BDHs, are good folk. Continued best wishes for all of them in '06.

Ok, I've bit my tongue for awhile now but I have to say it. The Dune quote is not from Leto Atreides but Paul Atreides. Leto the Duke did not undergo Bene Gesserit training as young Paul did. The Litany Against Fear is from Bene Gesserit training. Nuff said!

Sorry but I watched Children of Dune(DVD) about 50 times Leto(son of Paul) use those words when he was facing the desert storm.

Maybe you're refeering to the books, but I haven't red the books yet.
