May as well be.

I don't think any child of a browncoat will get away without knowing the entire scripts through osmosis if nothing else by the time they're 14.

There'll be the teen rebellions, where they go out and buy copies of Andromeda just to piss the folks off, but they'll come around eventually.

I so thought that said 'incontinance dating' then. (hey, just consider the previous three posts!

I think Firefly might be too abstract for a 5 or 6 year old. My plan is to show them the original Star Wars trilogy at an early age (hey, my parents did it to me), show 'em the prequel trilogy if they want, and hopefully they'll be sci-fi fans once they get old enough to care. Then I bust out Firefly/Serenity. "You ain't seen nothing yet!"

I'm gonna be an awesome dad.

My kids are gonna hate me.

Don't forget the ballgags, that way they can't talk and distract themselves from the show.
and, you MONSTER! why would you torture children that way, showing them SW ep1-3? That's criminal.
That's the sort of thing that gets kids years of thearapy.

So, back from the New Years Shindig. "What happens in Aiken stays in Aiken." Special thanks to Serenity for planning and hosting. I had a great time. Hope everyone else did.

See ya in the funny papers.

There's always St. Patty's Day. Good day to try an irish car bomb.

And Valentines. We could have an Anti-Valentines party. No couples, decorations in black. We drink black russians and eat chocolate and cookies shaped like broken hearts and other non-romantic things. Instead of valentines, you give each other fake hate notes. Some friends and I started doing this in college. You send each other notes like:

If I had a zillion
Cds, none would be Marillion
I'd rather listen to Bjorn
Or assail my ears with Korn
and Karaoke tone-deaf Nathan Fillion.

Okay, that was terrible, but you get the idea. And of course, I would much rather listen to Marillion than Korn because I don't like Korn at all, but that's the fun. One friend sent me a lovely poem about how she hated my hair and I should get a pixie cut.

Okay, babbling. Going to shut up now before I still the Babbling crown from Seryn.

That sounds flippin' sweet! I have the perfect song to play at such an event. Odd that I mentioned this song in the original Hidey Place thread: Remembering Never's Serenading This Dead Horse

Lyrics like "Shed another tear as I stab you in the chest with pieces of your broken heart, f**k your broken heart," "Serenade me with a love song - bulls**t!" and "Yes she does bleed, I don't love anymore" make it just the song ;) It's an anti-emo song. good stuff.

Confidence has deserted me, with you it has forsaken me

Oh Kermie! Whatever shall I do with you?

My words are not sharp! They are soft and round and fluffy. Like all those pillows I loved so very much.

I have a funny anti-valentines-ish song. It's by Bjork.

It's oh so quiet (shh shh)
It's oh so still (shh shh)
You're all alone (shh shh)
And so peaceful until...

You fall in love, zing boom!
The sky up above, zing boom!
Is caving in, wow bam!
You've never been so nuts about a guy
You wanna laugh you wanna cry
You cross your heart and hope to die

Till it's over (shh shh)

and on and on. It's hilarious because the song starts out so quiet and pretty and then she yells the second part and it goes back and forth getting more and more crazy.

I didn't want to live inside a lie
If she wants him more than she wants me
Let this be

She'll come back to me
She'll come back to me
She'll come back

All day I wait and wait
To hear her footsteps on my walkway
She never came
She never even called

She'll come back to me
She'll come back to me
She'll come back

Somehow I know it won't last
Somehow I know it won't last too long

Citizen - I have to admit in my mind you were there anyway, It totally didn't connect that you're on the same side of the pond as me.

And of course you are invited, you have to be there!

Right now, all of my hopes are pinned on getting another job, like an office dogsbody or something, seeing as they all start at almost twice what i'm earning now, I can't avoid it any longer.

That or ask my dad to take out a loan for me.

Ha.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha haaa!

Yeah.... so job huntin' it is.

Oo, anti-valentines songs, I have to adit to going for the obvious, but they do have the added fun of screamability for those really 'heartfelt' moments...

Puddle of Muds 'She hates me'

and Ugly kid Joes 'I hate everything about you'

I'm off to dig out some more sublte, but no less heartfelt ones.

oooooo... this ones just eeevil

Tell me tell me is life just a playground
Think you’re the real deal honey
and someone’ll always look after you

but wake up baby
you’re so totally deluded
you’ll end up old and lonely
if you don’t get a bullet in your head

good luck good luck
good luck in your new bed
enjoy your nightmares honey
when your’re resting your head

you sold me sold me
sold me down the river now
hope you’re feeling happy now
now you’ll always have a sneer in your smile

but wake up baby
you’re so totally deluded
you’ll end up old and lonely
if you don’t get a bullet in your head

good luck good luck
good luck in your new bed
enjoy your nightmares honey
when you’re resting your head

And I’m glad so glad that I’m done with you
No more crying crying leaving me so black and blue
You backed me up against the wall but I stand tall
Don’t give a damn no more

Oh baby bye bye
No more lies
No more lies
No more lies
Without you

Good good luck
In your new bed
Enjoy your nightmares when your resting your head
Good good luck
In your new bed
Enjoy your nightmares

good luck good luck
good luck in your new bed
enjoy your nightmares honey
when you’re resting your head

So, that was 'good luck' by Basement Jaxx.

Anti-Valentine songs. . . I think I got one.

Pretty Girl by Sugarcult

Pretty girl is suffering,
While he confesses everything.
Pretty soon she'll figure out
What his intentions were about.

That's what you get for falling again,
You can never get him out of your head.

It's the way
That he makes you feel
It's the way
That he kisses you
It's the way
That he makes you fall in love

She's beautiful as usual,
With bruises on her ego and
Killer instinct tells her to
Be aware of evil men.

And that's what you get for falling again,
You can never get him out of your head.
And that's what you get for falling again,
You can never get him out of your head.

It's the way
That he makes you feel,
It's the way
That he kisses you,
It's the way
That he makes you fall in love.

It's the way
That he makes you feel,
It's the way
That he kisses you,
It's the way
That he makes you fall in love.
Love.

Pretty girl, pretty girl.

Pretty girl is suffering,
While he confesses everything.
Pretty soon she'll figure out
You can never get him out of your head.

will they not even give it to you if you get the request in at the beginning of the new tax/holidays year?

I kinda just told them that I was away that week, very cheeky, but it worked.

Its 1st - 4th of September, I booked off from the 28th Aug to the 8th I think.

Now its just the plane fare.

I love flyin', anyone else really love plane journeys?

Question though, they have this 'membership' thing, that is effectively your ticket I take it?

And is anyone paying the extra for this ball thing? (assuming there will be tickets available)

Or are you reeeally not planning that far ahead?

So, when/where is Dragon Con? I'd love to actually go to a con this year.

Dragon*Con is always the first weekend in Sept. In Atlanta. I've drivev down the past 2 years. It's worth it. 4 nights of hotel plus con entrance plus food and stuff can get expensive. But the more people you split the room with, the better. I spent way too much on autographs. Hopefully a few of the BDHs will return. '04 had Nathan, Adam, and Jewel. '05 was Adam, Jewel, Ron and Morenna. I hope they all come back and bring some friends. By then DVD figures should let us know what the chances are. Maybe we'll be celebrating the announcement of a Sequel.

Yeah, and today I've finally returned to my actual abode. It was completely worth it. Time and money willing, I can't wait to do it again ;D

My words are not sharp! They are soft and round and fluffy. Like all those pillows I loved so very much.

Oh, I have some ideas :D (note: not naughty notions, I swear (ps - yay alliteration))

Yeah, those pillows were quite ridiculous, no? That was great ;)

Then you have nice notions?

I LOVED the pillows (note for those who were not there. Each bed had 4 very fluffy pillows on it. We had more pillows than we knew what to do with.) But me, being a pillow enthusiast (I have many) slept with 5 or 6 pillows on my bed. I like sleeping in a pillow nest. Cozy cozy.

Ow. My brain hurts from trying to think of a response to that that is NOT naughty.

Here's my take: in the healthy interest of avoiding brain pain, I truly believe 'tis better to release the inner naughty. C'mon, who's with me?

I say, let the pillows lie where they may! (Release the bad! Release the bad!).
