In Serenity (Firefly The Complete Series DvD) When Mal was introducing the Companion (whom Book thought was an Ambassador) to Book as a whore, did it seem to you that Book was looking silently upset, not by the fact that he was being introduced to a Companion , but with Mal's lack of tact, and taste in the introduction?

Later, Book brings Inara a meal and he says that Mal thought that she might like it. Is this Book's way to apologize to Inara for Mal's treatment of her?

I just want to know if I'm interpreting all of this correctly.

Yes, to your first question.

No, to your second.

But your interpretation is probably as good as anyone’s.

I dunno, RiveR may be onto something here. I know when I'm witness to an act of cruelty to someone, I go out of my way to be kind to the victim. I would have done exactly what Book did.
