Hi everybody, I'm your standard new convert. I read about Firefly in Empire magazine years ago. They said it was brilliant, I planned on picking it up sometime and put it to the back of my mind.

Then Serenity came out, and I thought it was great. That made my mind up to get the series, and I got it from amazon, and of course loved it. I'm completely obsessed now, and have bought the books and will buy several copies of the dvd when it comes out.

I have a couple of questions about how I can help to get the show back on the air.

Who should I write to? Every letter should help. Is there anything specific I should say in the letter so as to exert most pressure?

Also, I heard about comics. I only found the one firefly comic on amazon, and i preordered it. Are there more?

WOO HOO...New Browncoat!! Welcome abord friend.

When it comes to writing in, I'm not the person with the answer to that question. I know there are plenty of other folks on here with that information. From some of the things I've read in the past, Joss has information about us (unless I've read something wrong), and I do know that Mark Sheppard (Badger) is a regular on this site and even writes in from time to time. I also know that most of what really counts in order to bring back the show would be DVD sales from the series and the movie as well as movie ticket sales. So let's pray that those numbers show them just what a jewel they have there!!

Wish I had more information for you. I just wanted to give you a shout out and welcome you to our happy Browncoat family!!

Welcome Aboard!!

Hope you like it here.

Sorry, I'm not one to answer your questions either. Check around, there are usually a few threads dedicated to signing petitions and sending letters and whatnot. If you look, you'll find them.

Hi and welcome to the bittersweet world of the Browncoats! We get to enjoy the shiniest show ever, but seem doomed to suffer endless angst about the future of the 'verse...

I can give you some info about the comics. So far, there have been three issues of the comic, titled "Serenity" (natch). Each issue is available with three different covers. They are still available online. Try googling Midtown Comics or Poplollies. I've ordered from both. Poplollies must be run by a Browncoat; my order arrived in an envelope hand-lettered in brown marker, including the words "The future is worth fighting for" (IIRC).

The thing you ordered from Amazon is the same three comics collected into a single "graphic novel". It hasn't been published yet; the last ship date I saw was early January. It, too, is titled "Serenity".

There is a good chance that there will be more Serenity comics, possibly later in 2006.

You might also enjoy a couple other items that are available now: "Serenity: The Official Visual Companion" includes an interview with Joss, pre-production memos, tons of stills and conceptual art, and the complete shooting script, all on large-format glossy stock. Then there's the book "Finding Serenity", a collection of essays about Firefly edited by Jane Esperson (one of the writers on the show). It's got some great stuff in it, including a really shiny article by Jewel Staite (Kaylee).

Or is that what you meant by "the books"? Anyhow, welcome and enjoy.

Ain't about you, Jayne. It's about what they need.

Thanks for the info. That's especially cool how the envelope was inscribed.

I have got all those books. They all look awesome. They're in the mail now, I can't wait!
