Has anyone else been reading this magazine?
https://258west.com/category/item.php?id=44
It is so great, they have several pages on each character as described by the actor who plays them...
a nice long interview w/Joss talking about his 'verse
a long article about the set designers,
an interview with the stun coordinator,
another with the composer, and last but not least
an article with the SFX folks at Zoic Studios.

a really great read.

of course I have to confess that I'm confused,
what is the difference between the two editions?

I got it about a month ago, and I love it!

I saw it in a store, and I immediately had to buy it.

It's really fun, reading all the interviews and such.

I don't know, but I've ordered the set (both versions). I'll let you know after I get them and compare the two.

I have the one with the blue cover on the front.

It's a very good read-I love that they have interviews with the entire cast, plus in-behind-the-scenes stuff.

I recommend the Visual Companion to Serenity as well. Long interview with the Joss! :)

Got it, and quite enjoyed it except for the interviews.

Reasonably entertaining but for the fact that it felt clagged together from existing interviews, rather than giving the impression that they might have been done specially for this magazine.

The editor could have had a look at it and realised that not every single article had to start "Long ago, in a Galaxy far away, there was a TV series that got cancelled by Fox. It was called Firefly..."

OK, I exaggerate. But not by much.

Oh, and while I'm bitching. It cost a fiver. Would it have killed anyone not to have printed it on reconstituted woodchip? Felt exactly like an old Marvel / DC comic.

Thing like this needs some gloss. You're bound to spend some time rubbing the pages against your cheeks...

(Er... sorry, I can't think of anybody who needed to know that.)

I have both editions. The only difference is the cover. One is the blue cover. One is the brown cover. I like them both.

I got mine at a Books-A-Million store. 100 pages. $9.99 price on cover. When I went back to get more for Christmas presents, they were all gone.

Maybe I was being a bit of an arse about the recapitulations. They really aren't all that bad / very intrusive / there at all.

However, it still is on rubbishy matt paper, honest. (Have to read a few pages over breakfast each morning. Helps you face the world.)

It is the same one, 100 pages, Blue / Mal / River / Serenity and 4.99 English Pounds, which matches your pricing near enough.

Next time I'm shopping I'll see if I can get a shinier shiny-paged edition. Promise.

G

Goblet Of Fire. Not bad. The Weasley boys totally stole their scenes and is Neville turning into John Cusack (at that age) or what?

Must be a UK edition. The US edition is shiny, glossy paper.

I just checked at it is still available at Books-A-Million online. bamm.com You have to choose magazines and search for Serenity.

I was worried when they disappeared from the stores, that they threw them out. But bamm.com still has the Blue cover US Shiny edition Serenity the Official Movie Magazine 100 pages.
They have a few less after my visit.
