I did not get to see the movie yet. It had a short theatrical release here. So I am awaiting the DVD release. One thing I am wondering is whether or not all the Serenity crew survive in the movie. I especially hope the this is so far Inara and Kaylee. Please let me know.

Thanks,
MFred

NEEDY

The road to Hel is paved with good intentions

Well, I'm sure other people will freely tell you but I'm not one of them.

I really think to get the most enjoyment and thrills from this movie the first time is to NOT know what's coming, or who will make it.

The end battle won't have as much tension if you know exactly who will survive and who won't

Just my thoughts... but I hope you'll be able to wait a bit longer for the dvd to see it for yourself
...

then again someone might just flat out tell you in the next post

Are you sure you want to know? Part of what makes this movie great the first time you see it is that you really don't know what's in store for each crew member in terms of having a pulse or not by the time the credits roll.

I really want to know. The series is great even after 3 viewing. In particular, I am wanting to know is Mel, Kaylee, Innara and the sister survive. They are the ones who I connected with the most.

WARNING! SPOILER ALERT! If you really don't want to know, stop here...

The answer to the question in your subject line is "No".

The answer to your question about specific characters is "Yes, those four survive."

Also: the names are Mal (not Mel), Inara, and River. You can answer many questions about names, spelling, etc. by turning on the subtitles on the DVDs.

Oh, plenty of people don't survive Serenity. One guy sitting two rows down from me had his head explode during the final battle.

It was just THAT intense.

And on my way out of the theatre, I had to step over an old man whose heart gave out during the big Inara/Kaylee love scene...

Saffron: I do know my bible, sir. On the night of their betrothal the wife shall open to the man as the furrow to the plow. He shall work in her again and again, til she bring him to his full. And rest him then upon the sweat of her breast.
Mal: Whoa. Good bible.

I would love to tell you everything that the BDM is all about, but I can't bring myself to do it. To ruin the whole thing? Inconceivable! (Brownie points to whoever knows where that's from! ) Even if you really, really, really do want to know, trust me, you don't.

I'm very sorry.

Shiny side up,
~ForeverShiny~

PS: I so agree with you, Blinker.

Can't stop the signal!
"No, Cap'n, I think it's shiny!"--Kaylee, o'course.
"Yeah, but she's our witch, so cut her the hell down." --Mal in "Safe."
