I'm new, so...

Looking on E-bay for a boxset. Though the standard descriptions only list about 8 eps...? Are they in accurate or something? I know I saw two nights worth of sci-fi marathons (4 eps each) and then two seperate friday night eps. So that's atleast 10 eps by my count.

Anyway, hopefully someone more knowledgeble will help :)

EMBERS

there are 14 episodes, on 4 disks

originally Fox only aired 11 of them but the DVD set includes them all...

Sci-fi should run all of them eventually, they were just doing shortened marathons last week.

You should write an e-mail to the seller on eBay and check to see why they list only some of the episodes (are they selling a VCR recording from TV?)

There are actually 14 episodes.

4 DVD's should be included in the Box Set.

Disk 1 - Serenity part 1 & 2, The Train Job and Bushwacked.

Disk 2 - Shindig, Safe, Our Mrs. Reynolds, & Jaynestown.

Disk 3 - Out of Gas, Ariel, War Stories, & Trash.

Disk 4 - The Message, Heart of Gold, & Objects in Space. Plus some nifty extras.

I wouldn't go with anything on eBay though... Amazon is pretty cheap, and even Wal-Mart prices are good. Plus you know you're getting everything you're paying for.

NOte that while it is correct to say that there are 14 episodes, the pilot Serenity was double-length, so there are 15 "television hours" worth of Firefly.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Unless you get a great deal on a used set on ebay (but you won't, because it is a high demand item) your best bet right now is amazon.com. They have the lowest online price - $26.97 - which qualifies for free shipping. Also, they are very good about replacing any defective discs if you are unfortunate enough to experience that, something you won't get from most ebay sellers.

I just checked on ebay and there are people asking a lot more than amazon is, plus extra for shipping. And the confusion you had about the number of episodes is that in the pre-formatted information that ebay users can insert into their listings via UPC code numbers, for Firefly the only episodes listed there are the ones that have audio commentary as extra features. It doesn't mean those are the only ones included in the set.

Thanks for the additional info. Though I think there was some reason I couldn't use Amazon or Half.com, in that it differed from E-Bay in some way...not sure and it's been awhile so I guess I'll give it another look.

About the # of eps, thanks for clearing that up, I thought I was miscounting when I was coming up with 15 :p
