Hi all,

i'm struggling a little trying to find any info on any upcoming firefly conventions in the UK!?

I heard a pod cast that said there was going to be one in november. Can anyone confirm this, also give me any link with this type of info on it?

I realise i might be al ittle late in the game as it were, but surely with the movie only coming out a month ago there must be more?

there is a long thread called Serenity2 (to the second power)
but I understood that the convention sold out, it had limited attendence.

watch the R. Tam Session vids: http://www.hittarivertam.nu/

You've just missed it I'm afraid - was 18th to 20th November. There will be countless reports/photos online in the coming days.

However, Ron Glass has been announced for Collectormania next April/May ( http://www.collectormania.com/)

Hey there,

To my knowledge there were only two 'Firefly/Serenity' specific cons this fall. The Starfury Serenity2 con in the UK that just concluded yesterday and the 'Flanvention' scheduled for 12/9 through 12/11 in Burbank, CA USA.

Several of the BDHs have been guests at different cons over the past several months. On this weeks upcoming podcast I'll be mentioning that Summer and Alan are scheduled to appear at the 'FX Show' in Orlando, FL in January 2006.

There has been a BDH presence at the last two DragonCons in Atlanta, Georgia, and they were the absolute huge draw at D*Con 2005. Present were Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Morena Baccarin and Ron Glass (who is the biggest sweetie in the 'Verse and always has a huge grin on his face.) They filled up a 3,000-seat hall at least 3 times I know of, and were frequently available in the Walk of Fame area giving autographs and taking photos with fans. They couldn't be nicer!!!! And there were many, many Browncoats in attendance. It depends on who the LOTR special guest(s) are next year (if any), but I'm actually thinking of walking in the Browncoat contingent in next year's parade instead of the LOTR contingent. Yes, there's a parade!

I'm sure that the Southeastern Browncoats will have another great schedule of events for next year's D*Con. Check it out at http://www.dragoncon.org/.

D*Con is an experience all unto itself. If you're going to spend the air fare to come to the States, you may as well come to D*Con. Atlanta is a major international hub and there are many non-stops and cheap flights available if you book in advance.

Believe it or not, D*Con 2004 was the very first sci-fi/fantasy con I had ever been to, and it has ruined me for all other cons.

This year was my first Dragon*Con and I completly agree with you. It was awesome. Not only the Firefly/Serenity guests and events but the massive amount of Sci-fi sessions and events make this THE sci-fi con in my opinion. I plan to be back next year.

For a good recap of what a trip to Dragon*Con is like check out this link...

I live in Atlanta and have been kinda wary of going to DragonCon 'cause I'm scared of people who dress as Klingons, or who only speak Elvish. Are there a fair number of fans there who are just there for the autographs and to meet the stars? I'm NOT trying to sound mean, because I know how excited I get about my hobbies, but I'm just your average SciFi fan and I'd be kind of uncomfortable around people who take it way more seriously than I do. Also, can you buy tickets for just one day to see the people that you want to see, or do you have to buy a weekend day pass? I'm a grad student married to a firefighter so money's an issue.

With 35,000+ attendees you have ALL kinds of people roaming the halls and in the sessions. I am the father of two teenage daughters and I am a big Sci-Fi fan but by no means am I a 'hardcore' fan. I still felt very comfortable at the con and had a great time.

Be sure and review the link I posted earlier since I think it gives a good idea of the kinds of things that are happening.

Feel free to check out the advance pricing for 'memberships/tickets' to see if you can swing the cost now to save money since the fees go up as the con gets closer.
