Due to large amounts of hirrasment over Firefly and Starwars, i have found that one thing always pops up when something like this happens. That is how many Starwars games there are, now i know this is no true mark of a great story but i was wondering what are peoples thoughts on this and if anybody has come up with any concepts for any. Or if there has been any news of a game for Fierfly.

There probably won't be a game unless there are a couple Browncoats heading a gaming company. Either that or Firefly comes back to television and things pick up from there. I would love a Firefly game, though. I would love anything to do with Firefly, to be frank.

It would be good to have elements of a 3rd person shooter and an rpg. set in kind of an open ended story. I just think it would neat if they put the player in the situation of trying to survive "on the raggedy edge" if they do I just hope that they don't try to retell what happened in the movie or the show because that hardly ever works.

I agree but unless you have some serious connections, well I guess you do- and here's to hoping your friend comes through. I just don't think any progress will be made. Pessimism is my curse.

I think a Firefly game would have to be a Sandbox game. You know, those games where although tehre is a plotline, you don't actually have to follow it and you can do whatever you want? Like GTA or Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. It would be perfect for Firefly. You could take jobs, travel the 'Verse, avoid the Alliance, have close encounters with Reavers...It would be the best game ever!

What about an MMO style game huh? Like Star wars galaxies but you know, with less of the monotony and more of the action...

You can't take the sky from me...

Please no, an MMO Firefly game would take over my life. Endless Firefly action... all time would be spent on it. So much happiness but nothing would get done. Blissful destruction.

I already mentioned wanting to see a Wild Guns hack with Firefly characters and enemies in another thread...however, should a new and original game get made, I'd personally like to see it with a Phantasy Star Online kind of engine. That is, you go and custom-make a character after selecting your class, and you play in the Firefly 'verse. There could of course be ways of custom-creating a character to resemble your favorite character from the show (I'd be the first guy on my block to strive to re-create Jayne...he is the man!). I'm thinking that if it were an online kind of game, there could be cameo appearances from known characters as NPC's to help certain adventures along.

Just imagine taking a job offered by Badger, or having to steal something away from Nishka, or being payed by the Alliance to take out a swarm of Reavers, or maybe teaming up with Mal, Zoe, and Jayne and tagging along with them for an adventure.

It could be cool.

Again I say: Sandbox game.

And all the characters could have different abilities:

I heard somewhere that that game "Gun" has some sort of "Quick Draw" feature that could let you shoot the guns out of six men's hands in a blink if you were good enough. I'd expect Mal would have something like that.

Zoe would be all well-balanced as well as fast and agile.

Jayne would be the muscle.

Wash (Its would take place BEFORE Serenity! BEFORE!) pilots the ship and avoid Reavers and stuff.

Shepherd Book could infiltrate secret Alliance areas and bypass security codes. And, of course, fight as well as Mal.

River = Slayer. And Psychic.

I'm not sure that Simon or Kaylee's job would make for an interesting gaming experience, and playing as Inara would make the game a little too Hot Coffee, so yeah.

That would be so awesome. It has so many perspectives, something for everyone. Long range, gunman, vehiclist, hand to hand. Servicing an engine and mending wounds doesn't sound exactly entertaining but it doesn't omit them. Maybe they could be minigames or even fully playable but they could always make them NPCs.

ive been meaning to putz around with the Half Life 2 edditor, ive played with Hammer some, but i was thinking about making a mod for HL2 that revolves around Jayne pre-Serinity days, running around finding work, shooting people where needed. maybe ill do that this weekend. maybe write in the story where he gets Verra?

Well the Firefly Nova team is still hard at work (when there is time LOL) at our "little" total conversion for Escape Velocity Firefly. Here is a few screen shots...
Map 'o the 'Verse:

(NO System Vs. Galaxy debate on this please!)

A little visit with Niska. The other ship if from the graphic novels

The ship to the right of the Skyplex is from TTJ, and the ship on top of the skyplex (and in the scanner window) is from the Graphic novels. The other ship in a new design
