Anyone else out there interested in seeing the site put up a new Poll? Anyone have any suggestions?

Personally, I would like to see how many browncoats have joined the 'verse after seeing Serenity. See how many people were actually drawn in.

EMBERS

good suggestion:

How many became fans when Firefly was on Fox?
How many became fans from Firefly DVDs?
How many became fans from re-airing of Firefly on Sci-fi (or other country equivelant)?
How may became fans from the movie Serenity?
edited to add: Did anyone become a fan from the comic books?

everyone who has come to this site did so after they got hooked on Firefly/Serenity....
it would be interesting to know what brought them here!

FILLIONFLAN

I was kind of a hybrid DVD/"Serenity" convert...a friend got me the DVD set for my birthday so that I could watch it before I went to see "Serenity" which looked cool (my rule...anything with swordfights, spaceships or mass destruction must be seen on the big screen).

So I grew to love the show from the DVD set, but never would have picked them up if the movie hadn't come out.

WASH: “Of course he’s tense. He’s awake.”

I saw the show when it was on DVD.
My brother was a fan when it first aired, but I never watched it.
I was bored one night and decided to sit there and watch an episode with him and I fell in love with it.
Now, I own a set of the DVDs and I've seen the movie a few times and have pre-ordered the DVD.

MISBEHAVEN

I'll confess to being a recent recruit. I'm not sure why, but I'd never even heard of the series. I became a fan after seeing the film (4 times), and subsequently buying the Firefly DVD ( 2 sets: one for me, and one for recruiting friends and family). I thinks it's the best series/film to come out of the sci-fi genre in a long time, and I can only hope there's more to this story.

I agree it is time for a new poll and I would be very interested in how many new people have come in since the show has been airing on SciFi and since the movie has been in theaters.

I saw the show on SciFi, fell in love, did some research, found this wonderful place, ordered the Firefly DVD set, watched them all at once and knew I would never be the same, saw the movie lots (!) and have ordered just about everything there is to order associated with the 'verse and am giving everyone in my family "Serenity" for the holidays. I'm currently trying to afford another set of the Firefly DVD's so I have another loaner set.

I fell in love, couldn't help myself.

Good suggestion Embers, I'd definitely be interested in those results. Email Haken the idea...is there a suggestion box somewhere, I can't say I've really looked for one.

NIKNAK

I'd like to see a poll of who should be hired as composer for Serenity 2 (if and when).

Greg Edmonson
David Newman
Other big name composer.

Late Feb this year, had a gift certificate, cruising for some new sci-fi, Firefly looked cool, purchased it.
Imagine my surprise, I expected something vaguely on the level of Farscape, and WOW!!!!

It changed my sci-fi life.

It was a good night. I just couldn’t stop watching it…

I saw the film as soon as I could as well (one of the Q&As Joss did when he was in Australia. Another night I will never forget) and have since seen it too many times to say (well, in my mind anyway... I’m sure there are people who have seen it more than me)
