hi everbody. quick question about the dvd set...but first i'd like to say what a huge fan of firefly i've become in the last two weeks. i saw the movie before seeing any of the shows and LOVED it! i ran out and got the series set immediately. how was this show ever cancelled?
anyway...i'm sure that's been discussed to death, so..my question....
the dvd series comes in four discs. why aren't they in order of their airing dates? is it crucial to watch them in order of when they aired?
i'm just a little baffled at the scattering of all the shows over the four discs. thanks people.
Mike (newly recruited firefly maniac)

I like this theory:

Fox aired the shows in the wrong order (not
Joss order). Which lead to the show being canceled. Fox did not realize what they had.
Now they do. I've read Fox is releasing a
Firefly soundtrack.

The dvds are in proper (Joss order). Watch
Disc One (Mal cover), Disc Two (Book cover)
Disc Three (Jayne cover) and then Disc Four
(Zoe cover).

Anonymous one is right,
Fox (TV) aired them out of order...
making the character & plot developments VERY hard to follow...
(because they are evil and stupid and they should die )

Joss chose the order of the DVD episodes,
in fact the DVD order is not the order filmed...
(and the aired order isn't either)
but Joss chose to show 'Objects in Space' last
because it leaves the viewer at a 'rest' point,
when everyone on board seems to have a family feeling....

which then has to be destroyed in the comics in preparation for the movie...

The Serenity comics--great artwork inside and
outside. Cool story too.

And Joss is going to write more.

I know there is going to be a graphic novel
of the Serenity comic, but will it include
all 9 covers inside?

Also does anyone know if Dark Horse sell comics on-line or only through stores?

I don't know if the graphic novel will include all 9 covers (or any of them) inside (that would be cool though!)

Dark Horse does not sell themselves,
and if you go to their site they will recommend buying through their 'official' seller: TFAW

DO NOT FALL FOR THAT! TFAW IS AWFUL!
they sent out comics a week to 10 days later than they appeared in stores
they sometimes sent a cover different than the one you ordered
and their shipping costs a lot
(and they charge extra for boards & bags, which other stores don't)

no one was happy with TFAW
instead there is a great site here:
https://258west.com/category/cat.php?id=12
(the owner is a Browncoat)
and I also like this one:
http://www.midtowncomics.com

but it is also nice to contact your local comic book store and get them to carry them,
you can create more interest in the show in your own home town!

I gotta agree with that. I pre-ordered issue #1 when it was first announced and I didn't actually receive it until AFTER issue #2 was released...I had much better luck with 258WEST.

I've never tried TFAW, but I can tell you my experience with 258West was great. CAREFULLY packaged comics, mailed in a timely manner, for reasonable shipping charges. I'll deal with them whenever I can.
