I'm listening to my Serenity soundtrack at the moment, as my Firefly one has yet to arrive. It's fantastic! I mostly listen to the last few tracks over and over.

Yeah, that's what I did when I first got the Serenity ST...but the more I watched the movie, the more I came to appreciate most of the other tracks, too...it's fun to listen to them and try to figure out exactly where you are in the film. Some additional favs have become the first three tracks, and the track where they turn Serenity into a Reaver ship.

Just got the FF soundtrack two days ago and am really enjoying that...I LOVE Edmondson's stuff! There is a great essay in "Finding Serenity" (if you don't have it, get it!) about the music and it is really cool to read that and then go back an listen to the different tracks again.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I listen to the Serenity Soundtrack every day, and much like others posting I listen to the last 4 parts of it. I'm drivin' my family nuts with the playing it over and over...

But they have shipped my Firefly Soundtrack and I should be getting it any day now, and I'll listen to that until I near wear it out, I'm sure. I love the music from the show.

I've got that book, Fillionflan, haven't read that part yet, I'll have to go looking for it today and check it out. Excellent book, especially (for me anyway) the comparison of Enterprise and Firefly. I literally laughed out loud while reading that part and agreed with the author completely.

Just waiting for the Firefly soundtrack and the DVD..........

Yeah I find that the earlier tracks worked really well in the movie but I pretty much only like the lighter tracks near the end to listen to repeatedly.

I have both and I love them! I decided to get creative and combine both albums into a streamlined playlist on my realplayer and then create a cd of that. I reorganized the tracks into "thematic" groups, in other words, I put the songs in a new order where they flow better into each other from a musical standpoint, and it sounds amazing! I highly recommend trying it. I eliminated the tracks that I either didn't like very much, or that I felt took away from the whole, musically. So this is subjective and according to my own personal taste...

This is the order I put the tracks in:

(Firefly Soundtrack) Track 1, 25, 18, 4, 13, 19, 7, 9, 10, 15, 8, 21, 20, 17, 6, 24, 14, 12, 23, 3, (Serenity Soundtrack) Track 1, 8, 7, 9, 10, 3, 4, 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and at the very end the acoustic version of the ballad of Serenity that I found (although it is not as clean sounding as the other tracks, of course, but it's still nice).

The two albums actually work well together when tweaked this way. Try it and see if you like it

I'm listening to the firefly soundtrack right now. I have spearate playlists on my ipod for both Serenity and Firefly, and I listen to them quite often. Some bits of the music really give me an emotional reaction. Good stuff.

Actually, right now I'm listening to Ep. 4 of Firefly Talk.

As for the soundtracks, I've been listening to the Serenity soundtrack regularly since I got my hands on a copy. Still haven't shelled out the cash for the Firefly soundtrack, but the Serenity soundtrack sits right at the top of my iTunes 'most played' list. It's head and shoulders above stuff like Mr. Bungle and Blue Man Group.

I have the Serenity Soundtrack that I downloaded from itunes and I love it. Thanks for all the reviews on itunes for Serenity by the way guys and gals!

The Firefly soundtrack isnt available on itunes yet, and from what I hear, they left out the song from Jaynestown, "The Man from Canton" Whats wrong with this picture?
I think they do stuff like that just to keep us screaming for more, and later they will release the same music, but this time with the Jaynestown track and we will purchase it again.
We are too easy

"As I sit here and slowly close my eyes
I take another deep breath
And feel the wind pass through my body
I’m the one in your soul
Reflecting the light
Protect the ones who hold you
Cradling your inner child

It’s serenity
In a place where I can hide
I need serenity
Nothing changes, days go by

Where do we go when we just don’t know
And how do we relight the flame when it’s cold
Why do we dream when I thought mean nothing
And when will we learn to control

Tragic visions slowly stole my life
Tore away everything
Cheating me out of my time
I’m the one who loves you
No matter wrong or right
And every day I hold you
I hold you with my inner child

It’s serenity
In a place where I can hide
I need serenity
Nothing changes, days go by

Where do we go when we just don’t know
And how do we relight the flame when it’s cold
Why do we dream when I thought mean nothing
And when will we learn to control

Where do we go when we just don’t know
And how do we relight the flame when it’s cold
Why do we dream when I thought mean nothing
And when will we learn to control"

MIDNIGHTER2K

Just picked up the Firefly soundtrack Friday. I go to college in Grand Forks, ND, so it was no easy trick to track this down. I hit every CD shop in town. I ended up paying about 20 bucks for it at the specialty place in the mall.

I'm amazed and grateful that Fox even gave us this soundtrack, but they left off my favorite bit of music from the show: When Mal loses everything at the beginning of the pilot episode. Those haunting strings should have been on the CD. I am baffled why it was not included. Of course, maybe I just can't hope to comprehend the obvious brilliance of Fox's track record ;)

Still, I am SO glad this was finally released! I have been listening to it nonstop. I feel it works much better than the movie score because of its unique blending of sounds and styles. To me, the movie score was a tad...generic. But, hey, I bought that too.

Listening to them both! Only thing, some of the pieces are far too short. But I'm glad for what I've got!
