Has anyone else been reading SERENITY: The Official Visual Companion
This book is absolutely enthrawling!
Joss goes into great detail about the 'verse,
he expains in great detail about America (which evidently anexes England sometime in the next 500 years in some kind of sick ironic twist of fate...) and China working together to terriform and establish a co-operative government in a new solar system....

In the book they have included memos to the camera and lighting people which reveal all kinds of insights of how Joss views his characters and how he wants them presented on film.

And of course there is the shooting script, the story boards, the costume & set art, and much much more besides....

This is the MOST amazing book I've ever read about any film,
have they ever put out anything like this for any other film?
Of course I've never cared as deeply about another film before
and no (in case some trolls are reading) I am NOT saying that 'Serenity' is the greatest film ever made...
I'm saying that I care more about it than any other film:
(which is obvious since I've never joined fan sights for any other film)
I love the ship and the crew,
and I love learning every detail of what was involved to get the film made
(even stuff I don't understand like camera lenses and CGI effects and film processing techniques)

Anyone who loves 'Serenity' the ship as well as the movie
will want to buy this incredible book...
I assure you, you can not be disappointed!

I have the book too, and I love it. I love that the screenplay is in it.

I love the book too! Haven't had a chance to read much of it yet (school grrr!), but when I have I found it incredibly hard to put down.

The only similar book I have is for Titanic - but it was mostly, IIRC, production stills, and a bit of explanation. Interesting, but without the heart of the Companion.

I really liked the history of the 'verse. And the listing of the planets.

There's not much not to like!
