Malicious was the first I heard spotted it, Joss was the guy that opened the safe in the robbery at the beginning- I'll be lookin' at my next viewing.
(I usually notice these things, shame on me)

Who else was aware of this?

I know he did the voice for the old guy, but I'm doubtful that the actor unlocking the safe was Joss. I've watched it 9 times (4 since I realized that was Joss' voice) and if it is Joss, that's one hell of a makeup job.

Are we talking about the guy that says something to the effect "So you're browncoats 'eh?"
IMDb lists him as Weston Nathanson and he certainly looks like the man in the film.

Yeah, the old guy that says "Old Browncaots, eh? thievin' ain't exactly soldierish work." (Paraphrased a bit, but it's pretty durn close.)

And yeah, that 2000 words or less post is where I got the idea that it was Joss' voice. Listening to it, and watching the actor good and close, you can tell it's overdubbed. Sounds just like Joss too.

Joss has admitted that he dubbed in his voice for the Old Guy (I'm not sure why). It was originally going to be just a temp thing until they could find another actor to do the voice, but everyone grew so used to it they just left it in.

Morena's voice is also used in the BDM...and yes I mean other than Inara, lol.

She is the computer voice that says "Parliamentary override; full access." in the records room in the first Operative scene.

Start of scene (everyone standing in cargo bay with door down.)

Inara: Let's go to Persephone.

*Mal thinks about it*
Mal: No, let's not go to Persephone. It's a silly place.

Kaylee: Oh look at the fluffy white bunny rabbit. It's so cute.

*fluffy white bunny rabbit savagely leaps at Jayne's throat and latches on*

Wash: Wow, look at that sudden but . . . evitable? betrayal. Is evitable even a word?

River: It's an angry rabbit. It hates . . . and kills . . .

Jayne: Gorrammit, don't just stand there! Somebody get this rabbit off of me!

*Zoe shoots rabbit off with deadly accuracy. It falls to ground twitching. So does Jayne*

*Simon goes to Jayne, checks the body*

Simon: He's dead.

Kaylee: Poor rabbit. What did it ever do to anybody?

Jayne: I'm not dead.

*Others load Jayne's body on to mule, ignoring continuing protests that he's dead, then drive it off the ship*

End scene.

well...

as everyone who replied to Rabit's note afterwards did so in context - you "loathsome heaps of parrot-droppings," you "EXCREMENT! You whining, hypocritical toadies who sit there on your Tony Jacklin golfclubs, not caring a tinker's cuss for the struggling artist - you wouldn't let ME join would ya', y'blackballin' bastards..." - just in case "Rabit" was posting a serious question, wanting to know where the previous parody came from: it was a combination of stuff from Monty Python's Holy Grail film, specifically the 'Killer Rabbit' scene mixed with the plague scene, wherein people have their oldfolks hauled away as corpses, although they haven't died yet which, when you think about it, is just about as funny as anything can be with the exception of Mr. Creosote's diet.

just to mention...

It's all part of the service, no need to tip

HOHOHO

...well I wouldn't join now if you got down on your lousy, filthy, purulent knees...
...and begged me!

Oh, I definitely understood where it came from, as far as inspiration goes (especially the Rabbit part ), but what I didn't understand was why it was posted here.

Not complaining, mind you, just not knowin'.

Rabit

P.S. The responses were nearly as funny, I might add.

Wait, wait, wait, Joss did the voice of the newcaster in the Maidenhead, but that old guy does not sound like him. I could be wrong, very shamefully wrong, but I think there is some confusion here as to where Joss dubbed in his voice. It's the Maidenhead for sure, anywhere else is up for debate. Or official corraberation. Or, me learning how to spell at all.
