For those out there who have (hopefully) read the 3 issue Darkhorse comic miniseries Serenity, there were frequent ads advertising a continuing book series of Firefly/Serenity. Does anybody know anything about this book series besides what was mentioned in these ads? Thanks!

"I aim to misbehave."

This is what I think of 20th Cent. Fox for cancelling Firefly/ Futurama/ Family Guy/ Dark Angel:

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Nothing concrete from the Powers That Be yet, but it appears that several authors are up for consideration for novels.

There is an interesting discussion over at the 'Versal board about a novel:

Seems author Steve Brust has submitted a manuscript for a novel he is calling "My Own Kind of Freedom".

It seems like there will be a book series; I found on Amazon a book titled "Mirror Image" (Serenity), from Pocket Books. Of course, it's not released yet, but it certainly seems like a series (just like what happened with Buffy and Angel).

I heard an interview (on the signal podcast) with the author of the novelization (DeCandido?) regarding novels. He said that Pocket Books has commissioned plots from authors and they will choose two to turn into books soon.

Joss has also said that he doesn't want editorial control because he'd end up rewriting everything.

"Butcher Knife..."

Not released, no picture of the cover & no author listed. Sounds like a possible maybe to me.

True indeed. Seems that Brust & Krad are two of the authors in the running for consideration. I surely hope that Keith (Krad) gets picked for one of the books. I love his stuff!

No doubt Joss would rewrite the special hell out of at least portions of anything that he edited. He is such a perfectionist.
