So when (if?) the movie is released in a chinese speaking country, if they dub over all the voices in chinese, would they leave the original actors voices for just the parts in chinese. I want the chinese to know there was chinese as the joss intended.

Maybe they'll leave it in English and just subtitle it in Chinese? Then leave the Chinese... unsubbed?

They'll probably have to bleep the Chinese parts, at least in the TV series. There was some pretty strong language, and some Asian countries are pretty prudish (notably China itself).

As for the movie, not so much -- the Chinese phrases used were pretty mild.

Ain't about you, Jayne. It's about what they need.

Slightly OT.

Watching Firefly with the French and Spanish dubbing I noticed that there is no Chinese. As far as I can tell some mild oaths or even slight rewrites replace the Chinese. Sometimes it's just skipped.

French Simon's a real jerk, too.
