Did anybody else feel somehow uplifted by the fact that Jayne plays guitar? Remember in Haven when they were all around the fire pit and Jayne was spitting out some great tunes, I thought that was mighty shiny.

Mmm. Jayne lookage.

Yeah, I noticed and I loved it. It was just a nice, nice scene that was sorely needed before the movie went to dark, dark places.

Your reaction is interesting, since others (not me) have complained that Jayne's musical abilities were out of character.

Then again, some people have been complaining loudly about things that didn't bother me a bit. Takes all kinds, I guess.

Ain't about you, Jayne. It's about what they need.

i don't think it was out of character for Jayne. He does have many levels - although most of the time he doesn't show that he does. He has that warm, fuzzy kind of level to him. It was, however, hi-larious to see him playing the guitar with his eyes closed, with so much soul. First I went HA HA HA and then i sat back and went AWWWW.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Not sure that playing guitar is out of character for Jayne since other than knowing he is greedy & self serving we don't know a great deal about his past.

I found it interesting to see Jayne playing the guitar at the campfire on Haven. It gave Jayne some depth, made him more of "real" person. It is nice to see there is another side to him than just a coin grubbing mercenary.

Remember that big tough Jayne is the same guy wearing hats mama knit for him and sending home money to said mom (and little sister?)

He probably learned to play after visiting Canton.

How many times has he set Sereenity's bulkheads ringing with "The man they call me!"

And he brushed the whore's hair in HoG. Remember that?

He has levels. Maybe not as many as most people, but he's got 'em.
