I don't think it's a girlfriend you'll be needing to worry about. Get my drift? wink wink nudge nudge say-no-more

Sean's posting seems to be incredibly on the level, and if it wasn't sean, then sean would write myspace and ask them to kill it and they would.

He says:

sean's Details
Status: In a Relationship
Here for: Friends, Networking
Orientation: Straight

So, yes, it's girlfriend, and no more details are given because he doesn't want crazed jealous fans tracking her down.

So, girls, if a future bliss with our mr. tam is what you had in mind, here's a tip. Katie Holmes tried this, and it worked for her:

Her lifelong ambition was to be Mrs. Tom Cruise. So she got herself started on an acting career because actors tend to marry actors, and then she waited for Tom and Nicole to break up. It was a many year plan, but it worked.

I'm not saying this should be an only plan for the real die hard, but it is the only such plan I've ever scene that works.

I also know a de-lusting spell if anyone is interested :)

Dyu think he would have heard of it, though? I mean...he might not even know what myspace is!

Guys, come on. People create profiles on My Space and Friendster all the time for celebrities, and they stay up for eons unless someone reports them. But who would bother?

Why is it up? Probably because the actor doesn't know about it, and if he does, he doesn't care. The staff behind these sites is usually relatively small, and no offense to our BDHs, but even if there were a list of celeb names they were routinely checking against (the way Ebay checks against, say, "Vicodin"), I don't think Sean would be on it.

If he wanted to open himself up to his fans, don't you think he'd just commission a website? And do you suppose Sean Maher the actor has time to check his profile every day, as this person is?

No one on the board who's met him thinks this sounds remotely like him. Err on the side of assuming it's NOT him.

True, true, it is spelled wrong...but it's kind of cool that way.

Which is a big concession from a writing/literature major, but I'm getting soft in my old age.

I might even eventually accept the fact that most people use "hopefully" wrong.

Wait...check that....nah, I never will.

How are you supposed to use hopefully?

Most people do use "hopefully" wrong, but it happens so often you start to overlook it. It's an adverb that means "done with hope."

RIGHT: "She believed the rescue team would come by air. She stared hopefully at the horizon."

WRONG: "Hopefully we'll all learn Sean Maher is straight and has crushes on all of us and will be our boyfriend and take his shirt off every day."

RIGHT: "We're hopeful that Sean Maher is right for us."

RIGHT: "Hopefully, we await the truth."

I have to say unfortunately, probably he has a girlfriend.
I saw Sean at his new movie showing, and I found he and a cute girl hugging outside.
She could be a fan, but my hubbie thought she'd be a girlfriend or at least someone close to him.

Btw, Sean was really, really nice, humble, and very down-to-earth kind of person, and a good working actor. Now I'm a big Sean Maher fan in addtion to Dr. Simon and other BDHs!

Before I saw him there, I was thinking "maybe" Sean's Myspace thing was his, but now, I almost know it wasn't. Well, getting deleted says something also.

I'm working my way up like Dreamtrove suggested. ;) Wait, I'm married already! lol Well, my goal is to join SAG in time for Serenity 2 so that I can audition for any small none speaking parts or one of those extras! lol

Ahhh - Now I got what Wildheavenfarm meant! Sorry I'm slow in the morning.

So that girl we saw must have been a girl who's close to him. :)

Just curious - how did you find that out?

It's interesting since it kinda makes sense. His aura was so soft and nice for a regular guy. ^-^;

I think that's it's been pretty much established that the myspace site is a hoax.

It wouldn't matter if he has a girlfriend. None of us are probably going to ever date him anyway.

He also went to the premeiere with two pretty girls. They looked like they could've been actresses or models. I'm not that pretty.

Did he walk away with the girl from Living til the End or not. That could tell you if she was a fan or someone closer to him.

I also don't think that the myspace is authentic because at the Living til the End Q&A Sean said that he doesn't like talking about himself. So, why would he put a website up online?

I was looking for you BruiserMom at the theater, blue eyes with a black skirt! but after Sean walked in, I was too busy trying not to have a heartattack lol.

I thought what Wildheavenfarm hinted was that Sean's partner isn't necessarily a girl, but of course I could be mistaken. I just thought "ahhh..." since he has such a soft/nice manner that reminds me of my gay friend.

If he does have a girlfriend, that means all the fan girls can keep thier wild imagination going! lol

And yea, I recommend "Living 'til the end" to anyone who's getting tired of blockbuster movies, and of course to Sean/BDH fans. He's a great actor, and he gives all he's got. My hubbie and I both enjoyed the movie a lot. (^-^)

I don't think his MySpace is legit. I've always wondered whether or not he was sly, is anybody here really 100% sure? Also concerning Living 'til the End, did Sean get a tan? It appears as though he got a tan.

Then again, it has made its way into the dictionary as a proper definition for the usage (see #2):

"hope·ful·ly /ˈhoʊpfəli/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hohp-fuh-lee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adverb
1. in a hopeful manner: We worked hopefully and energetically, thinking we might finish first.
2. it is hoped; if all goes well: Hopefully, we will get to the show on time.
[Origin: 1630–40; hopeful + -ly]

—Usage note Although some strongly object to its use as a sentence modifier, hopefully meaning “it is hoped (that)” has been in use since the 1930s and is fully standard in all varieties of speech and writing: Hopefully, tensions between the two nations will ease. This use of hopefully is parallel to that of certainly, curiously, frankly, regrettably, and other sentence modifiers.
