Hello all, Serenity was my first experience with Captain Mal and his motley crew! I had heard of Firefly but never could figure out when they were showing it. After awhile I gave up trying to find it and forgot about it. What a shame it is that I missed this great series.

I've been a big Joss fan from the days of Buffy but I was skeptical about Firefly because I was never much for Westerns.

After loving Serenity, my wife and I had to get the Firefly DVDs. The whole week we spent watching the episodes and let me tell you, we both nearly cried after watching the last episode on disc 4. We so badly wanted more firefly! But there was none to be had unfortunately.

I discovered today that there were Serenity prequel comics that were written by Joss and I scooped them up rather quick.

The wife and I went to see Firefly again tonight, and while it was one of the smaller theaters at our movieplex, the theater was still full, which is encouraging.

Can I now consider myself a browncoat?

I want more Firefly! Damn it, Sci Fi Network! Stop spending your money on crappy B movies like Aligator and give Joss back his baby!

Thanks guys (and gals), its a pleasure to be among you.

Welcome home. Channain should be around soon to offer you some very fresh wine.

Have yourself a good time and make a point of visiting all the caption game threads. DON'T have a beverage anywhere nearby 'cause that's a recipe for unhappiness.

I'm new to the team myself, but I'm glad the conversions are coming along well. So here's to the continuation of Firefly and a fruitful future for Joss.

I'm right there with you - though I had the opportunity to watch Firefly BEFORE seeing Serenity -- but I've only come into the series in the last 2 months.

I LOVE IT!!

It's one of those ensemble casts where in I LOVE each character! That's where Joss Whedon did such an excellent job -- he created 8 characters who are the BEST of their character-types. I don't know how to explain it...but they are ALL so likeable!

I wondered if people would have the emotional reactions to Serenity if they'd never seen the series, because I was so enamored with all the characters BEFORE I saw the movie. I'm so glad to hear the movie is drawing fans on its own!

Okay, so which one of the nine main characters didn't you like?

Just kidding. We all know everybody hates Kaylee. (Uh, again, just kidding.)

I also went to see it again last night. The theater was absolutely PACKED. It wasn't quite sold out, but the only open seats were in the front rows. I think the word of mouth might be getting out there. Let's see how the movie does this week.

You are totally a Browncoat! And the Mrs is too,
I'm glad you got the comics right away, those are gems.

and have you watched the pre-quel videos?:
http://www.session416.com/mirrors
or
http://www.hittarivertam.nu/
because they are creepifying and HI-larious...

also, another Browncoat reminded that there is a script that was never made into an episode (the show was cancelled when the script was finished but not yet filmed)...
You'll find it in the 'episodes' section of this site,
and urge you to check it out.

There are a lot of wonderful things at this site,
so: welcome and enjoy!
