Hi all, I'm new here and almost completely new to Firefly, my girlfriend only introduced me to it this weekend, and I love it!!! The disappointment at finding out that the show was cancelled after only 14 episodes was overturned by the joy at finding out that the film of the series, Serenity was released here in the UK on Friday...which I managed to watch yesterday and ADORED! ^_^ And to top it all of, it's #1 in the UK Box Office!! Yes, there's another thread in which we Colonials have been giving props to you folks on the east side of the pond. Well done!

It's always great to hear from new Browncoats. Now you just have to drag all your friends to see the Big Damn Movie...

Yay! Hopefully, this will influence the studio and make a sequel more likely. Don't know if overseas performance is considered but fingers crossed.

I've already dragged 2 groups of friends to go see it...*pats self on the back* and am lending my dvds around as fast as i can

Too bad, W&G - Curse of the WereRabbit is coming out this week....Serenity knocked Pride&Prejudice off the top spot for the first time in 4 weeks, but I don't think it can hold vs Wererabbit

It's been getting rave reviews though....if anyone wants to download the mp3 of Mark Kermode's (famous UK film critic) film reviews, you can go here:

Although the mp3 download is only available till Friday (when it'll be replaced by the latest weekly show). But you should be able to listen to the Serenity review via webstreaming from the Archives. Serenity was his film of the week!!!

Well they should take overseas performance into consideration, especially with our strong £ and inflated ticket prices here, the UK Box office should have a decent effect on the total...i.e £3 mill will be ~$6mill, and overseas takings should help Serenity easily break even at the box office, with dvd sales turning out pure profit :) Sound like too much of an optimist do i? :p *contemplates changing avatar to Kaylee*
