Who opened the blast doors?!

Having seen it again yesterday, I was able to appreciate the nuanes and cry some more. Wash's death was still gut-wrenchingly shocking ... Anyway, who opened the blast doors after Mal sends the signal and River has done her killing? Here is River posed ever so eloquently with a dripping weapon in each hand framed by the door, dead bodies all around -- beautiful shot BTW -- and she's nowhere near the door. It seems unlikely that River would open the door then step back into a pose. So who opened the door that can only be opened from the outside?

Also, does anyone know what the little rocket thing is supposed to be, the one memorial beside the tombstones?

And was there ever an explanation of where the name Reavers came from? I don't remember that from the show/DVDs. And with Joss' obsession with appropriate names, there must be an explanation somewhere for it.

Finally, funny true story. This was a few years ago, I had just bought the DVDs and was on a business trip. The customs/inspector guy, line backer type, was going through my luggage at the airport. He saw my DVDs and smiled and gave me a thumbs up. You can never tell who is a Browncoat. Thought I'd share.

This was brought up on another board this morning (IMDB?)...

Somebody suggested the Alliance soldiers had activated all doors to open to provide easier access. That works for me...otherwise, I just wasn't going to worry too much about it.

From on line dictionary for "reave":

reave1 Audio pronunciation of "Reave"
v. Archaic reaved, or reft (rft) reav·ing, reaves
v. tr.

1. To seize and carry off forcibly.
2. To deprive (one) of something; bereave.

v. intr.

To rob, plunder, or pillage.

[Middle English reven, to plunder, from Old English rafian. See reup- in Indo-European Roots.]

This is a firework that Zoe is walking forward to light. No idea why the follow-up shot of the firwork lit was cut, along with the repair scene with Zoe fixing the window.

Someone from inside the tunnel probably opened the blast door, maybe Jayne. When Kaylee said that she could rig the door so that they couldn't be opened, it's reasonable to assume that she means that she can rig it so that it couldn't be opened from the outside since there's no reason for her to rig it to be unopenable from the inside.
