Hello All!! Just went to see the Movie on a
matinee ticket. Extremely Intense. If an
individual was not a fan of the T.V. series or
had not seen the DVD's, then they're in for some
confusion. It pays to do your homework on
this one. Those of us who have will be the
lucky ones. We will be the ones who will
understand the underlying meaning and tension
of the "humor". We will understand the fight
between River and the Reavers. We will know of
the kinship of "family". Preacher, I can kind
of understand, but... Wash!!!, What the fuck
was up with that!!?? Oh well, I hope I will
find out in the second movie? I know in my
heart of hearts that WE will be backing that
one as well. I know that sounds fatalistic
but some people will just not "get it". I don't
want to really say to much at this venture as
it is really a bit early. My friend Steve
introduced me to Firefly at the Comic Con. here
in San Diego in July. I borrowed his DVDs a
week before the premiere. Thank God for Steve!
I fell in love with the characters 10 minutes
into the first episode. I don't really see too
many movies. I think alot of them are pure
"fayu". I hope I have the spelling right on
that. Serenity is a great movie that I believe is being quite progressive as far as the original episodes might concur. That is all I have to say, for now, on the subject. I will be reading the posts of other people, as if a "leaf on the wind". Thank you to all Browncoats.

Beware of Reavers

EMBERS

just to reassure those who think that only fans can appreciate 'Serenity',
Roger Ebert (reviewer for the Chicago Sun-Times) never watches TV, and certainly never saw 'Firefly', and he had no trouble following the plot,
and enjoying the movie...
his review showed that he really did 'get it'

so, if someone doesn't pay attention then sure, they aren't going to follow this film,
but I think than anyone with eyes & ears won't have that much trouble....

of course there are a lot of things that mean more to us who love the characters and know their back stories,
but it isn't absolutely necessary

PS I was at a matinee today too, and they couldn't have all been fans...it was a fairly full crowd at 12:30pm, and they were loving it.
