CAITE

Well Browncoats, sadly my experience at Universal Studios on 9/24 left something to be desired. When I arrived at the ticket counter, there was a sign that said the event was filled to capacity, but it did not make it clear whether it was the Q and A or the autograph session. The Browncoats in front of my Mom and I asked the lady about the sign, and she said there were no more wrist bands left for ANY of the Serenity Fan Feast events. Those Browncoats turned around and went home. However, they gave my mom and I a buy one get one free coupon, so we decided to go in anyway. I said to my mom "well, let's go in and go to the wristband area and make sure." We did, and there were TONS of wrist bands for the Q and A left. Right before the Q and A there were STILL more left. The Q and A never did fill up. I ended up being okay with the whole autograph thing because I have heard that some people WITH autograph wristbands did not get in after all because the cast and crew had to go. I don't blame them, but the Q and A was started late, and I think that messed up the Autograph session some.

Oh yeah, and someone (NOT a Browncoat, I'm sure!!!!) stole my cell phone yesterday at the park. Yeah, it was that kind of a day.

I'm so sorry about your cellphone, Caite! And I also noticed they put up the signs way too early (after the 300 autograph session wristbands were out, but well before the 1500 Q&A session wristbands were out!)

Serenity is coming. 9/30/05.

PAINISSCARY

My girlfriend and I go there around 11:30 and saw the signs saying the event was full. The woman at the ticket booth couldn't clarify whether both the Q &A and autograph sessions were full or just the autograph session. It seems as though the event wasn't particularly well organized.

I suspected the Q & A wasn't full, but we decided not to buy tickets, since Joss wasn't there and since we already missed out on the autograph wrist bands. Still, it would have been fun to hang out with Adam, and to get a free poster.

Sorry your cell phone got stolen.

I was there as well yesterday and it was a bit confusing about the wristbands. We got there early enough for an orange one but then you had to go to a separate part of the park for the blue autograph one which we didn't find out till they were all gone. There was plenty of room left for the Q and A with Summer and Adam. Even though we did not get autograph tickets we still hung out over there for a while by the autograph area and then a representative came out and gave everybody who was hanging around a poster which was cool. Then we went in to the Terminator 3-D and when we came out we seen this crowd gathering outside the Irish pub there. It was Adam Baldwin just hanging out with the fans having a beer very cool.

I was there too, and unfortunately didn't get into the autograph session even though I'd gone to the park early and had a blue wristband. There were 30 ppl ahead of us and 50 ppl behind who didn't get in either. The park ppl were very apologetic and loaded us up with pre-signed Serenity cards and tons of free posters, hats, scarves, chopsticks, trading cards, and buttons. They even gave one of my friends a full box of rolled posters (100!) It was very unfortunate and poorly executed, but the fact that we still got to see all the props inside the theater and walk out with autographed pics and then still be able to interact with Adam at the pub took a lot of the sting out. They had some really cool stuff on display. Outside was the full mockup of the "Mule", inside was a 7 foot model of the 'modified' Serenity, several set pieces from Inara's training school, lots of props behind glass (Book's bible, Jayne's toolbelt, River's headgear, lots of weapons and blades, other cool stuff), the original paintings for the comic book covers, and some story boards/pre-vis artwork. The Q&A session was cool but they mostly showed the cd that came with the "Battlestar Galactica" dvd box set. There were some really cool in-progress clips that the special effects guy showed. I hope those show up on the bonus discs whenever Serenity is released. So even though I didnt get the full autograph session, the day at Universal was still very cool -but not as cool as attending the premiere and after-party! :-)
