Does anybody know what the "rules" are on this?
I just purchased a fairly realistic looking pistol for my costume, but it does have a bright orange safety tip. I know to leave that alone. The holster it came with is open on the bottom so the orange tip shows through. My first thought was, "Great now it looks like a toy & I should try to find an enclosed holster to hide the orange tip." However, my wife reminded me that in a public place hiding the orange tip may be a bad thing. Just curious to see what any other constume wearing, prop carrying Browncoats thought.

I got my "guns" at the 99 cent store, so they're probably considerably less realistic looking. But I wore them to one of the screenings (with a fairly obvious costume), and no one seemed to mind...

I will be wearing an empty holster, since it's a public place and will be so crowded. The war is over anyway, I guess. :)

yeah, same here...I never got my gun I was promised at D*C, so the cheapie one I used last year with the orange tip is a possibility, but I think I'll just avoid the hassle and go with an empty holster. It's mostly hidden under the browncoat anyhow.

Please leave the guns at home.
There's no need to surprise Police Officers, or you could get a nasty surprise of your own.
I've seen Con-Goers try to "freak out the normals" a number of times and on two bone chilling occasions seen the officer reach for his weapon and stop himself halfway there.

...cause Justice is the one thing you should always find.
