With 30 days to the US release, and 37 to the UK release, and with a brand-spanking new-look official site, and one more R. Tam session to come, and the 3rd comic coming...

There's plenty to see and do and talk about!

Also, there's chocolate, Alan, Summer, Morena, Nathan, and all the rest to keep us, ah, occupied...

Welcome along!!

"My God - you're like a trained ape. Without the training."

ta everyone
yeah, date for release (that's the serenity release, not like prison release or summat obscure) is getting closer now! As i didn't manage to get any preview tickets i'll be having to wait, which sucks slightly! i'm deperately trying to avoid spoilers, but it's not easy. Sometimes i have a moment of weakness which i always reret afterwards, and as such have been spoiled in a way that i really wish i hadn't!

I suppose it's safe to join in again.

Anyhoo, as I've posted at the UB, Play has the release date for the VC as 29th September, not the 1st. Amazon is now saying ships in 1-2 weeks (although the dispatch date for my order is still allegedly tomorrow. Yeah right).

So, if anyone's in London do they fancy popping into the Cinema Store & see if they're selling it there? (probably at £20.00...!).

(Ah, I see our friend has returned to the UB - BigDaddy2. Must be so tiresome having to think up new user names all the time!)

It probably hurts his brain. Oh no, sorry, his air bubble.

Well they've estimated my delivery date at either yesterday or today, and it hasn't even been dispatched yet. Work in an hour, woohoo. I wish I had internet at work! All I have is intranet where I can process membership forms.

I've cancelled it & ordered from Amazon.Com instead - OK, a little bit of risk waiting-time wise but price wise it's pretty much the same.

I've been fooled by Amazon's estimated dispatch times before! Mind you, my camera has been "ready to dispatch" since Sunday and it's been shipped today.

As for our little troll, not only does he keep having to come up with user names, he also posts a variety of cities/countries for his location (an easy way to check whether a new alias is indeed our "friend.") So for instance, BigDaddy2 comes from California, Canada.

Ah, priceless.

Well, it's a role-playing game, in which "players assume the roles of fictional characters via role-playing in an imaginary world that is organized, adjudicated, and sometimes created by another player, most commonly known as the gamesmaster".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role-playing_game

It is the official RPG of the Serenity 'Verse. I gather it refers to events, locations and characters from Firefly but not directly (ie no episode names).

It has an overview of the 'Verse, rules for profiling characters (including the cast) and 'adjudicating' their actions, and the like. So you can play the continuing adventures of the crew of Serenity or devise your own bunch of folks to wander 'round the 'Verse.

The 'Verse overview, with it's history, the planets, the societies and the tech, will probably be of interest to any fan, though it is of course only a semi-official version of it; later official material (sequels, anything actually written/said by Joss Whedon) would overrule it.

I think that covers everything

Yup I've read a few comments from folks who've played demos of it at recent games cons and they all say it ran well and felt a lot like the series. People playing the cast had great fun portraying them too

Here's a site from one of those players, with some pics of the play material they had to work with.

Hmm..is it one of the Back to the Future movies? I don't remember anyone being dead, but then I haven't seen them in ages, so my memory's a bit spotty.

Carol-I am soooo sorry my dear about the package. *hugs* You're having a bad week! *more hugs* I get stuff delivered to work all the time that's smashed or severely dented or worse. Once, they delivered paper to me that was wet. Wet! It looked like it'd been sitting in a puddle. I refused to take it and the large deliver man was getting very mad at me, going on about how it wasn't his fault, etc. I told him I DID NOT CARE and that I wasn't accepting wet paper and he needed to just take it back where it came from. I called the company and they reshipped and it was all good. But you can't let those delivery people bully you. Remember: menacing delivery men are no match for your powerful boobs.

Now say it with me: NO!
And once again: NO!!!

Right, here we go. Originally made it even more obscure (which is quite fitting), so hope i haven't given away too much.

Aspiring woman arrives in big city and befriends an amnesiac, only to later find out that she is already dead. Evil designs seem to be at play, or are they? In the end all is revealed, and then silenced.

Oh for goodness sake - I don't have a ticket to Serenity2, but I do have a postcard from the Royal Mail saying they're holding a letter with insufficient postage for me - mine for £1.21. Hmmm, wonder what that could be???

Of course the Post Office closes at 12.30 so I won't find out until tomorrow. So...on the one hand, happy as I'm 99% sure it must be the ticket, on the other hand not amused at having to pay for it (well, you know, pay more for it than I already have!)

As for the film, have no idea.
