I know that this was posted some time ago, but I've just upgraded to a Nokia 6101, and am desperate for a Firefly ringtone. Any help greatly appreciated, but I would point out that I'm technically inept, so simple idiot-proof instructions would help!!

Thanx.

I, too, have been unsuccessful in adding a cool ringtone to my Nokia. If you find out how to EASILY add it (simple mind here people! practically a drooler!) or if someone can help us out, it would be appreciated.

Mal-licious

I'm going to add cursing and the hurling about of things to my repertoire.

I used Planet Ringtone.net to load my Ballad Of Serenity mp3 onto my phone: http://planetringtone.net/default.aspx

Was very happy with them, it's a very user-friendly site. They have software called "Ringtone Ripper" that let's you load your own songs, and choose snippets you want out of a song.

Don't know anything about Nokia phones, but I think the main two questions to ask are:
1) What types of sound files does the phone support (midi, wav, mp3, etc?)
2) Can you connect your phone to your computer?

If you can't connect to your computer (via cable, infrared, bluetooth), then the only way to get new ringtones is by getting them sent to your phone somehow, and I don't know how you do that. If you can though, then you just need to find a ringtone that's supported by your phone, and figure out how to upload it onto your phone. If you figure that out, then we can probably help you find the appropriate ringtone.

Right now my ringtone for my phone is a sound clip of River saying "No power in the 'verse can stop me". I think it's just about the coolest thing ever.

My phone is a brand new Nokia and supports all sounds. It also does connect to my PC.

So, how do I get a Firefly theme on my phone???

I have a Sony, so I can't help the Nokia people.

Right now my ringtone is the theme song (and don't I get some mighty strange looks on the street when all of a sudden...

"Take my land, take my sea...."

Also, on my phone, I have bytes of some quotes.

River: "He looks better in red."
Kaylee: "Have good sex!"
Jayne: "Do you know what the chain of command is? It the chain I go get and beat you with 'til you understand who's in ruttin' command here."
Jayne: "Dear Diary, today I was pompous and my sister was crazy. Today we were kidnapped by hillfolk never to be seen again. It was the best day ever."

I listen to them when work is pissing me off, it makes me giggle.

I also have Janeane Garofolo: "Barney? Can you NOT poke the body with a stick, please?" and Monica from Friends "That'll teach you to lick my muffin!".

I'm a tweaked one, I am.

Go here --> http://www.wavsite.com

In their television section, they have Firefly. On every episode they've listed they have the theme song in both wav and mp3 format.

Right click and choose 'save target as'. It's simple.

Getting it from the comp to your phone? I don't know Nokia, sorry.

I've always used www.coolservice.dk

Basically, you just upload your ringtone/photo etc to their server - they send you a wap address or log-in code (they keep changing how it works!), you just go to the given wap address and save your ring-tone/photo. And it's free!

I did have trouble the last time I tried using it but have used it many times in the past without hassle so would definitely recommend giving it a go.

I have the Ballad of Serenity as an MP3 on my computer. How do I make it into a ringtone for my Nokia 6103?
I'd need to edit out the talking part, for starters....it is the version that gives the lecture on how the war for independence got started...

"Do not go gentle into that good night....
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. . ."
--Dylan Thomas

Though my soul may set in darkness
It will rise in perfect light.
I have loved the stars too fondly
To be fearful of the night.
