A couple of weeks ago, I read on this site that there was going to be a real shindig at the Atlanta DragonCon this year for all browncoat wannabes. Can't find the link now. It said that a party was scheduled for 11:30 in the International Ballroom South. Any word on the latest developments? I'm headin' up there Thursday night to check in. Give me some good news!!

add me to the early arrivals of browncoats.
my flight from raleigh and hotel business and such ought to be freeing me up by 4pm or so on thursday.

I had no plans but i did see they have some early concert at the hotels that night and barring anything else was gonna MARTA over to the con hotels and try and find browncoats, eat, hang or maybe try and find a movie if all else fails.

But, if a gaggle of early browncoats wanted to convene at say, the marriot lobby around sixish for joint food acquisition and pre-con minglery, that would be great too.

Its reallt TOO DAMN BAD that the screening of serenity was on the 31st and not the 1st.

grrr...

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

The wife & I will be there Thursday as well.

We will be getting together w/ the other Richmond area Browncoats to hang out, eat, drink & be merry.

What we all need is a rallying point & a time so those that are interested can get together & hook up to go do something.

Any suggestions?

Well, since there is early registration from 5-10 on thursday or so in the atlanta hilton, how about somewhere in the hilton lobby like say by the double escalators to the second floor??

Since I have to work Thursday, I won't be able to get up to Atlanta until around 8:30 or so that evening. By the time I get checked in and get my DragonCon pass over at the Hilton, most of you browncoats will be several beers deep into your third six-pack. I guess I'll wait until Friday night to meet everyone. Friday's gonna be a BD day and Friday night looks like it's gonna be an even Bigger Damn night. Remember, FIREFLY airs every Friday evening at 7:00 here in GA. If you do arrange a get-together, remember to leave word at the DragonCon info desk. That way, all of us latecomers have a point of contact for the latest word. See ya there!

Hey all,
I'm departing Charlotte around noon, given a possible stop for gas (*shudder*) and food, I expect to check in at Westin around 4:30 and check in for early registration of the Con around 5:00. Fan Table setup would be taking place around that time (Maybe???) so I'll check that area and around the escalators as mentioned above.
Perhaps a Marillion T-shirt will make me recognizable. See you all soon.

My plane gets in from Dallas (the connection place between L.A. and Atlanta) at 8:15ish-PM.I'm MARTA-ing to the hotel, so I think I'll be arriving at the Hilton (where I'm staying) around 9ish. If I find fellow Browncoats, shiny, if not, the next day will be fine. I'll be wearing a t-shirt with Kaylee's umbrella in front and "Ever Sail in a Firefly?", and the Firefly in silhouette and the word "Wanna?" in the back. And my Serenity button, of course.

Yes, I should be napping. Or working - or something. Two hours sleep and a hangover. But it was SUCH a funy party and thank you to all our shiny Browncoats that came out and made it so great.
