The Man They Call Soul...

Okay, I think we need to have a thread for Katrina up here in the main FF.net area. I know there's a Katrina thread in the Real World Discussions, but not everyone looks down there.

Latest news: the roof of the Louisiana Superdome has started to crack open. Rain and sunlight is getting in, and it's only going to get worse. There are 10,000+ people in there.

If you don't pray, now would be a good time to start.

I'm not sure if many people thought of this, but being the fanatic I am, I'm worried about the pets. You know, the ones who got left behind and are scared. Or the ones in the shelters down there that don't have families to help them in the storm.
If'n you remember, tac on a bit for them in your prayers.

Them as can, a few dollars here & there will go a long way to helping these folks rebuild - - the American Red Cross already has information for donations.

Thoughts & prayers are with everyone that are currently in the path of Mother Nature!

Looks like the Mississippi coast is going to get the brunt of it. I was stationed at Keesler (Biloxi) for a while and am saying many prayers for specific friends in the area and all who have/will be hurt by this storm.

I heard from someone in one of my classes that they were making people bring their pets with them (into the Superdome).

It seems the worst of the storm hit an area that was a lot less populated, thank God. I go to school in N. Louisiana but my family lives in South Louisiana, and a LOT of people where I'm at have family there too.

My mom was actually dropping me off at school but got sick, so stayed with me. I'm so thankful there with me right now. Things happen for a reason, if she hadn't gotten sick she would be in danger right now.

Anyhoo, it could have been worse. A lot worse. Thank you for the prayers, but please don't let up. Cleanup starts soon.

I'm here in Baton Rouge, about an hour west and north of New Orleans, we haven't gotten it too bad here, just a bit of wind and rain, heck we only lost power for about twenty minutes round about breakfast time. However, New Orleans did take a hit, but its not near as bad as the news is making it out to be. Y'all just watch out for the high gas prices that certainly hit because the main gas port is going to be shut down for a while. Thanks for all the prayers, and were praying here for the rest too.
