so... I heard about the storm yesterday. That's insane. I had a similar experience once (well actually its nothing like it, but I got an electric shock nevertheless) when I was trying to fix my video. I opened up the plug and was trying to sort out some leads that had come loose or something, and then I plugged it in, without the cover on, and the stupid person that I am, my fingers were on the fuse or the wires or whatever it was and I got a shock. It felt wierd and kinda cool, but afterwards my fingers really started to ache. Still, at least I can say I've had an electric shock - and lived!

My family and I moved this week. Amazing what you can miss in a week--a gigantic storm in the South (didn't hear a thing 'til yesterday, I swear!) and a whole lot o' mess on Destiny. Woah.

Weariness begins to over take Jack. He almost makes it to his room before he notices the power flicker.

"What the--?"

The auditory speaker sparks and sputters.

Curious, Jack begins his way back through the ship, "I'm no Safe... Maybe its some kind of fuse..." he mumbles to himself.

"SOME KIND OF FUSE," statics over the intercom.

"Oh God. Needy, you BASTARD!!!"

Jack stumbles back through the ship panicky, "No more shirts and rainsticks ever again," he finds a gun handle in the flickering darkness.

"OHGODOHGODOHGOD..." Jack mumbles.

At the far end of the hall, a slim figure is silouetted in the darkness. Busty and crackling with energy, Bubbles cocks her shotgun.

Jack takes careful aim and fires.

A Nerf arrow waps into the bullet riddled bride of Destiny.

"YOUR WEAPON IS INFERIOR."

Jack considers the mistaken party favor that Serenity had passed out hours before.

Three shots left.

*ignoring her subtle beg for mercy, the guys hose her down. At first she attempts to endure the conflict and walks onward towards the two fighters, but soon sparks fly, her knees buckle and she collapses to the floor*

*smoke rises from the crippled body and more sparks fly as Bubbles 1.5 eyes dim and she passes. finally*

Hello everyone! I'm back from D*C. Did you miss me?

I brought back presents!!!

For Flechette: fortune cookies with firefly sayings and chocolates with alcohol inside. (yum!)Also, I got my picture taken with Adam Baldwin. I'll post it soon. He's so very tall. And nice. He gave the proceeds from his autographs to Katrina disaster relief.

For Scottish Jayne-a utilikilt. SO VERY COOL. There were many many men in kilts this weekend. I was in 7th heaven. Check out the website. www.utilikilts.com.

For Needy-a cut velvet sarong.
There was a male companion on our parade on saturday and that's what he wore. A sarong and nothing else. I got my picture taken with him and when I get a copy of it from Kaylee4Simon, I'll make sure you see it.

For Greek: A shirt that says "Be warned: I have a vocabulary of over 75,000 words and I'm not afraid to use them." I thought it was funny, and if they'd had it in a babydoll, I might have gotten it.

For TRM: The onering.net fans had a booth and they had this t-shirt. See if you get it: (front) "For those of you who haven't read the books..." (back) "The cute elf-guy dies."

I don't get it and they wouldn't explain it to me. They were a bit snobby. Apparently Firefly isn't intellectual enough for them. Forget that I've been reading LOTR since I was 11.

Also, they had a cut out of Legolas, so I got my picture taken with him wearing my Jayne hat, which I will post as soon as I get my film developed. Tee hee.

For Amylisai-Take out from this AMAZING Indian restaurant I had dinner at one night. So very good. Also, there was a girl there that had made the Kaylee shindig dress. She looked so great. She was in the parade and I was the one who followed her around to help her on the escalators so her skirt wouldn't get caught. When I find a picture, I'll post it.

Jack-A pet dragon. Dunno why, but wouldn't you like to have a pet dragon? And I just have to tell you this: We all accept that you're crazy (and we like you that way) but I met some people this weekend that make you look so very sane. Also, you are NOT the worst dancer ever. I saw some things, some very horrible things, take place on the shindig dance floor. And Adam Baldwin danced to Love Shack. But that wasn't horrible.

Safe-Pictures of Jewel and Morena (soon to be posted). They were so nice in person, very sweet and funny. And so incredibly gorgeous. It's not fair that they can party all night and get up the next morning and look great and I stay up all night partying and get up the next morning and have bloodshot eyes. Oh well.

Soul-a signed copy of the Serenity novelization. I met the guy who wrote it. Got my picture taken with him, too. He's so nice. Also met the people that have been doing The Signal and got a CD of the sessions. Haven't listened to it yet.
I saw the Serenity RPG book, it has so much info in it, and also the just recently released Serenity Movie Companion book. That is incredible and I have to buy it.

Did I get everyone?

I also brought back buttons, key chains, pens, sampler CDs of music from the movie, posters, flyers, swag, swag, swag, and so many funny stories. Oh, I have so many stories.

Ron Glass hugged me.

That's the best one.

I am so very tired so I think I'll go to bed now and maybe tomorrow I'll blog or dish or something.

I just had a surreal Kaylee moment.

The copier at work kept jamming while I was trying to run copies of something important. I'm sitting on the floor so I can keep unjamming it as needed. I finally get the thing fixed. It starts running again and I kind of pet the thing and croon "That's my good girl!"

When I realized what I said, I burst out laughing and could't stop. I treat my copier like that all the time (you have to let it know you love it and it's doing a good job. Only way to keep them running.) But it was just weird to hear the words come out of my mouth.

Oh Flechie my dear, I'm sorry I didn't tell you. Your hat is finished, I just haven't had a chance to get it in the post yet, as I've been so busy with D*C and work. It'll probably get mailed out on Sat or Mon. I just have to remember where I put that address of yours. Do you want to send it to me again, just in case?

I've nearly finished Amy's, I just haven't had any time to work on them this week. And after that I start Needy's I believe.

I had several people ask for hats at D*C. I'm going to have to start keeping better track of all this. And people that aren't crew have to pay for theirs.

You won't believe what happened to me. On Weds I submitted a picture of Adam Baldwin and I from D*C and yesterday (one day later, mind you!) I had an extra 600 credits! I have NO IDEA how that happened, I was expecting to wait my 84 1/2 days like everyone else. Maybe my picture was so shiny that it got bumped up to the head of the line.

And it sounds like you're getting a nice little shindig going.

Okay, if our Captain doesn't show up soon and give us a new thread, I'm going to start one as 2nd in command. Anyone got suggestions for thread titles?
