I don't have cable, so I've been unable to watch FF on the Sci Fi channel. Only downside to that is that I was unable to see the new trailer. So how was it? Anyone know where I can go online to see it?

I thought it was pretty good, a good mix of the first two.

I liked the new trailer...though it seems to show even more solidly that this is scifi more than western, and I really liked the western aspect.
Anyway I gotta question. Who are the six rebels on the run that this trailer and the last one mentions? DONT ANSWER THIS IF THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN, IS TO SPOIL THE MOVIE BECAUSE YOU'VE SEEN IT...I'M BASING MY CHOICES ON THE TV SHOW.
I come up with 5, or 7, or 9 depending on who I count as rebels but can never get six.
Mal and Zoe are literally rebels having fought the Alliance so there is 2.
Simon and River are definately on the run so there is 4
Jane is as much of an outlaw as any, having beaten up/killed feds etc so I make him number 5.
But we need 6 so...
Wash is the pilot...without him Serenity doesn't move and he is involved in every caper so he's number 6.
But Kaylee is just as important and just as involved in the crimes as Wash so if we include him we have to include her making it 7.
Book and Inara are the only two that can completely be discarded.
Like I said I can find 5, Mal, Zoe, Simon, River, Jane...or 7, Mal Zoe, Simon, River, Jane, Wash, Kaylee...or 9 and have all of them in it, but I can't come up with a combo for 6.

If you consider River not a rebel (she's a fugitive, but she's really not so much _rebelling_ against anything in doing so, she's just running... even Simon had to actually go against the government to get her out and, to an extent, to earn his place on the ship, but River's sort of just along for the ride), it could fit, especially since they later refer to her as something else.

Exactly, StarPilot, that's my take on it. Inara and Book are passengers, River is the fugitive, and the other 6 are members of the crew, therefore they are the rebels.

MAL "You only gotta scare him."
JAYNE "Pain is scary..."

Thats a good point accept that being a that she is the object of the Alliance's desire (okay that sounds wierd) her very leaving, writing her brother to help her escape, etc would in my opinion be rebeling just as much as Simon. But maybe you're right. I guess I would have just been more comfortable with the trailer people putting a different number. Of course it might all become clear when I watch the movie. Oh September 30 where are you when I need you?

If there needs to be that much effort in deconstructing whose the rebel, the passenger and the fugitive, I say why put a number in there at all? Why not just say 'a band of rebels', or some such and be done w/ it?

Having gone to a screening already, I liked seeing more stuff in the trailer. But then, how much stuff is too much stuff? That'd be my only concern.

MY 6---Mal, Zoe, Wash, Kaylee, Jayne, and I include Inara because they were the CREW wandering away from Alliance control BEFORE
Book, Simon and River joined them

Also, I can kill you with my brain.

I liked the new trailer, but i think the first one is still my favorite. It just had a better flow to it. The other two were good but they just seemed a little choppy. I loved having the humor from the movie in the trailers though, which was missing from the first trailer.

The "third" trailer is the International Trailer. It's similiar to Domestic Trailer #2.

YT

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

Mine are Mal, Zoe & Jayne (little doubt about those three), River & Simon, and I'm not really sure who the sixth might be. Not Kaylee. Maybe Wash 'cause, as he implied in the pilot, he could hardly claim to have piloted the ship to & from crime by accident. Book seems the likely choice, as I've a sneaking suspicion that everything we know about him is wrong. Almost certainly not Inara. Almost, but why did she leave her House, & wtf is in that syringe?

I think it was cool of 'Versal to give us that number. Another thing to wonder about.

Keep the Shiny Side Up . . .
